*IF* the Dwight/LA trade is legit, what's Morey's plan B?

Another possibility could be to swap Martin (and maybe a little more) to the Sixers for Evan Turner; with Bynum's knees/unknown contract status, they can't be looking at a slow, long-term build, they need to do what they can to build around a ball-dominating post player NOW. With Iggy and Harkless leaving they're a bit thinner at the wings and I'm not sure they're ready to have Turner playing a key role on a team which clearly wants to be a contender.

Don't know about making the salaries work though.

You mean the same college floor Kobe, Garnett and Lebron stepped on?

The NCAA should take a page from OJ and make a game called, "If they played for us, this is what they would have looked like." It's just another moneymaking racket like any other sports league, except they get away with paying their players nothing. The way basketball is these days, you know about transcendent talents years before they make it to the pros. Shabazz is one such guy.

Just be glad we're not soccer fans. Those people kill each other over 13yr olds.

What's going to happen to 20 PFs? I guess the question is which ones are going to cut?

This is actually a good thing - now Morey is free to explore other trade possibilities with all these assets including expiring and picks. Good. I don't think it will be a Howard caliber player(very few better than him anyway and no one "available") but I think he will manage to turn a few of our guys into someone decent...but I don't think he will do that until the trade deadline. Martin he will probably try to shop for someone else similar to him as a trade chip for next summer.

Looking past Dwight......I am more excited about the Rockets 2012-2013 season than any other in recent memory. Our young guns will get opportunties, and they all have relatively high ceilings. We've got a lotto pick from Toronto, and Martin is going to be a great asset at the trade deadline.

We moved closer to a championship this summer.

It would be better to release Martin/Patterson for nothing, than to trade them for someone decent. Morey needs to get a legit prospect for them, or go big and get a superstar (which may have just failed).

There is two teams in New York and two teams in L.A. and one in Miami. Today's commercialized superstar will only go to one of the following 5 teams. OKC builds through draft. San Antonio through draft Tim Duncan is not of this generation of superstars. This is the nba more Houston fans need to have a better understanding of.

Anybody ever heard of this guy named Al Jefferson? He was the second best center in the league last year and he's in a contract year. He outplayed both Howard and Bynum in heads up competitions and did I mention he's in a contract year?

I dont know if this may work..and I may get crucified for this...but how about going after Amare with Martin's expiring(NY may not wanna deal with us)...

Then use some of the draft picks expirings...to go after Josh smith??

    C - Omer
    PF - Amare
    SG - Lamb
    PG - Lin
    SF Josh Smith

Bench: Donatas, Parsons, (jones or White), etc???

Traded: White or Jones, Patterson, Dallas pick, 2 2nd Rounders?

Wouldn't be shocked if it was Gasol. :(. Either we are all in for a superstar or all in for a total rebuild. Don't half-ass it.

You want to pay a one dimensional Amare, who just had yet another surgery and may never, ever be the same on offense, 60 million dollars to play with a rebuilding team stacked with promising forwards? What the hell are you thinking?
