They probably could have paid the billboard owner $1,200 and had their message up for a month. No one is preventing Occupiers from speaking their minds. This guy would just rather vandalize something than pay the going rate for a forum.

heck I'm all for OWS buying a billboard and putting your message on it. But the suicide angle? I still think its bad taste..like that David Dewhurst commercial. Just the wrong way to send a message.

I realize the Occupiers don't claim responsibility for this..but by posting the pics on their site - thats the same as promoting it and it doesn't sit well with me.

It goes much deeper TJ. Obama was also behind the heat wave. He was in close coordination with the green movement to manufacture the hottest July on record in order to push his "agenda". Another Obama deception uncovered....

From your original post: "Its caption says the Nevada governor's budget has slashed social programs and aid to suicidal adults."

In respect to marketing their protest I find it pretty clever. Especially considering the already underfunded resources directed at mental health services in this country.

I watched a man waste away for almost four years on a park bench across the street from two churches. No addiction issues, only mental issues. I was finally able to find him some help but it was ridiculously difficult. By the time I was able to find someone who could do something he could no longer walk and they told me he was most likely weeks away from dying.

I think that the offense to a percentage of the public is a small price to pay in order to bring attention to the lack of resources allocated to suicide prevention and mental health services.

Why exactly do you find this offensive?

Do that, only with an Obama figure. Heck, Obama is the great evil who kills innocent people with drone strikes blah blah blah, so he's just as bad as the Nevada governor.

What do you think the reaction would be?

Could be seen as a marginalization of suicide which strikes all income levels. Access to care or not. Could also be offensive just because of the starkness of the open presentation of suicidal violence.

My first concern was people thinking it was real.

I guess your argument would make sense if they were hanging a visage of the governor and not portraying one of the people committing suicide as a result of lack of funding for mental health programs.

But since it doesn't, I do not get your point.

You've lost some explosiveness coming back from your hiatus to the minor leagues.

Practice working on that jump shot.
