Why'd you have to remind me that Persona 4 Arena just came out? :(

I totally agree about the PSN vs X-Box Live thing. As far as I can tell, they're the same, except for the fact that X-Box Live costs money while PSN is free. And clearly there's at least one game where the PSN performs better... no doubt it varies game by game somewhat.

I honestly think that the people who so strenuously assert that X-Box Live is better -- without giving any concrete reasons that I've seen in this thread -- are simply trying to justify the idea of paying a subscription fee to themselves. People want to believe they're making a good investment, so they lie to themselves and say the paid service is "better" for vague unspecified reasons.

Much as I like Persona, this isn't one I'm going to buy new. I've learned my lesson with 2D fighting games... they're too fast for me in general, and I generally get bored of them quickly. I might pick this up if I see it at a bargain price (like half-price or less), but not otherwise.

I am excited about Dead or Alive 5, though. First installment in that series since Dead or Alive 4, which was a 360 exclusive launch title, seven long years ago. I'm looking forward to finally being able to play Dead or Alive with a PS3 controller, since the 360's controller is terrible for fighters.

All I do is play RTS's like Starcraft II on my PC with a mouse and the direction keys. You meant there's another way to play games?

Are you uncapable of reading the charts posted above in regards to exclusives? Or what Cola posted about exclusives. Just because you may not play them but take a look again at cola's list. Its a starter for you.

I'm actually more or less the same, but was thinking about getting it at release anyway (just to support Atlus). Then the whole Region Locking mess happened, and I decided to hold off on the game, as a type of "punishment" to Atlus (because they care what I buy and when). Of course, I'll probably just get it at the first or 2nd price cut, so not sure that really matters...

If you have the patience, could always wait til Black Friday week. The deals Amazon had last year were just totally silly. Less than month-old games going for half-price new a lot of the time.

I'm waiting to get a lot of my games then... except of course for the select few I can't make myself wait for, like Fifa 13 and the X-Com remake.

Speaking of which, I've been kinda pissed since I found the new X-Com will limit battles to 6 soldiers. Seems like that will guarantee that battles aren't as awesome as the original, as they can't afford to make it hard enough that you will lose several soldiers each battle almost guaranteed, since you only have 6 to begin with. I still support the effort to finally give it a good remake, though.

You name 1 game out of 300. Awesome.

Im sure there are others too...but lets not assume the PS3 wins the overall battle here.

And Borderlands 2, right? Or are you a blasphemer? C'mon now, people. Priorities.

Never said it won all of them, but for the titles I play which are exclusives to PS3 and BF3 then its a solid win for me.

Plus I have never had RROD or had to replace any of my PS3's that I didn't mess up on my own.

    How about you?

I have two PS3s and 1 xbox...I havent had a problem with any of my systems.

For my PS3, I only play exclusives on there...whereas I play all other games on the xbox. Other than Drake...I havent touched the PS3 in the last year.

Personal preference...but as a gaming device, I prefer the xbox. I like the PS3 for its blu ray capability, but I dont really use it for gaming.

Well congrats, you are one out of every 2-3 that doesn't get the RROD. Being able to play games always trumps not being able for millions.

As for graphics. Early adaptions of games might of leaned towards the XBox. Now that developers who give a **** know that the gaming community was on to them, shows that the PS3, WHEN DONE properly is superior. BF3 is an example. Not only is it an example, its a giant leap over the Xbox when you really look into it all.

Now that things are leaning towards the PS3 graphically, or we can call it evening out if you wish, we can go on to other aspects like:

    1. Blue ray player. How many worthless HD movie separate drives did Microsoft con out of people?
    2. Internet browser since the inception. Yes I know Microsoft finally caught up, but it was years behind.
    3. Free online gaming. Beats paying for it any day of the week.
    4. Having the capability to use devices like the PSP and vita. Beats not having anything at all.
    5. I don't know of a single Xbox user that doesn't have a modded controller. Pistols that fire like machine guns are always cool.
    6. Speaking of controllers, can they please make the Xbox controller a little bigger. I like feeling like I'm using a VCR to play my games.
    7. The exclusives. Sorry Forza isn't GT. Uncharted, Heavy Rain, God of War, Resistance, Killzone, InFamous, Little Big Planet (my kids have loved these game for years), Valkyria Chronicles, Demon souls, Gran Turismo, Heavenly Sword (one of my favorites for sheer production value and story telling).
    8. No 30-50 percent failure rate with the ps3.
    9. The Menu screen isn't a convoluted mess.
    10. Though the kinect is very revolutionary, it collection of games is geared mostly towards young children. The Move is adaptable to a lot of PS3 more serious games.
    11. Noise, Noise, Noise.

PS3 is my system of choice as well, but to be fair...
    2. The browser is terrible anyway, so I never really cared that it was on there.
    5. I don't have a modded controller.
    6. I think they're fine. Very good controllers, except for the god-awful D-pad. But then I don't really care, since I can just get fighting games for the PS3.
    8. The new model's failure rate is very low as far as I'm aware.
    10. Eh, I don't really think either if worth having. If ya want motion controls, just get a Wii...
    11. Well, having owned all these systems, I can say the new model Xbox Slim is actually quieter even than the PS3 Slim, so this one has reversed itself.

All that said though, I still prefer PS3. Big reasons being: (3) free online, (7) I like the exclusives better, (1) Blu-ray, and (9) waaaay better interface. And a couple other nice little perks you didn't mention: Bluetooth remote, and better DVD upscaling.
