Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine Ran into Carlos Delfino today. He didn't want to go into specifics on eve of huge USA game but said he WILL sign w/NBA team after Olympics Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine Houston, I'm told, actively chasing Delfino, who's at 15+ ppg on 49% shooting at OLY. As a fan, it's hard to imagine that the Rockets don't have some sort of plan worked out with someone. It doesn't make any sense that we are going after veterans at this point.
We need a hispanic player since we cut Scola. That's why the Rockets were interested in Eduardo Najera too. This is Houston after all, and there's lots of hispanic fans.
as long as he's fully healthy and the coach is strict enough (i.e. benches him when he starts hoisting 25 footers), Delfino is still a rather good player on both ends. and he does look healthy this summer. but... do you really need him? i thought the idea was to get a superstar first, or tank.
Superstars are rare.... you don't want the media think we are close to the level of the Bobcats? At least we climb two spots.
I agree, if we don't make a trade for a big time player, we don't need to add veteran talent at this point.
Actively chasing instead of actively pursuing. We are talking about Carlos Delfino here, ESPN. Hakeem raped their beloved Knicks.
For those who've followed Delfino, is he going to back up Parsons? If he's not a good SF, why in the world are we signing him because he would take away time from Lamb!
