Rudolph posts everything he hears to twitter and hopes something sticks.

I'm actually trying to look at this as impartially as possible and I still don't see how this is better than either our offer or NJ's offer.

Two middling to low picks, a huge contract, and a bench player. After all this? This is what you settle on.

I wouldn't offer anything more than Martin, Patterson, and Morris plus the Mavs and Char picks. Nonsensical to offer more than that if Iguodala + non-lottery picks is what you're up against.

Seriously, right now I'm more than happy with letting Orlando hang themselves. Hennigan is trying to get $3 for a buck and is going to end up with two IOUs and a foodstamp.

Jarrod Rudolph: Sources: Magic and Lakers are discussing the reported 4 team deal. But nothing is imminent as they are discussing other potential deals. 4 minutes ago[/url]

Regardless of where this drivel came from, you can bet one organization was NOT the source - the Lakers. Look how long it took them to soothe Pau's fragile psyche after the failed Rockets' trade last year. They have to be pissed that this crap is being floated out there. Look for them to quickly come out and shoot down this rumor.

Maybe the Magic are finally pushing Morey to make the deal.

if you think that way, I've got a bridge i'd like to sell you.

no need to bite on this nonsense. Bynum either stays in LA, goes to Orlando, or ends up in Houston.

You do realize this deal is absolutely horrible for the Magic, right?

That's the worst way to try push Morey.

When Adrian Wojnarowski reported the talks of a 4-team trade discussion, I wasn't sure if it was credible or not... but whew... thank God for Alex Kennedy of Hoopsworld and Jarrod Rudolph of no-idea-what, who were able to "confirm" it. I would have been so lost without their take on this fringe Yahoo! report.

We don't know what the Rockets are offering though. We can easily offer more but will we offer that much for a rental? We don't even know when Dwight is going to be healthy and there is a very high chance he bolts when he gets the opportunity. Getting Dwight for a rental would be good if that would make us a championship contender but the Rockets aren't there even with Dwight. We should just try to outbid Philly for Bynum. We can get him for cheaper and he will probably be willing to extend.

    All sources go to hell!

This trade sorta makes sense. Lakers would want to send Bynum/Gasol to the East - why send to the West if you don't have to?

Tony Mejia: NBA source says there would be nothing holding Denver or Philly from this deal, but its more Lakers and Magic exploring options. Not close. 3 minutes ago

Tony Mejia: Source: Exploratory. Option of moving Pau has always been there, but nothing Lakers are serious about, especially with Nash on board. FWIW 1 minute ago

ORL management really **** the money bed with this entire Dwightmare drama, should have took the good offers while they were still there.

I know the simile is cliche, but this is all playing out like the end of a game of chess: Daryl Morey versus the Orlando Magic. Sadly for Rob Hennigan, he was substituted in to play an already-losing position.

What is happening now is that Morey has made his move and declared "Check Mate", and Hennigan is trying to explore what moves his king (or another piece) can make to avoid that check mate. It's frustrating as hell, both for Hennigan and for everyone else watching this mess. But he's nevertheless going to go through that process, each explored move only revealing that his demise in this match is inevitable.

Now, let's just hope that Hennigan and the Magic eventually just lay down their king (Howard) and allow Morey to walk away with him, rather than throwing a tantrum, knocking all the pieces off the board and ruining their own chess board out of spite.

    ;)
