so do Kevin Love's fans. many people can pass 2/3 of the floor. few can with reliability, precision and anticipation of Rubio.
generic in that case meant "throwing up a bunch of stats together and picking up a superficial common trend without analysis in any depth". Which you just did too. Frankly, I'm not a huge Rubio fan, if anything I've always rooted vs. anything Spanish basketball. But it annoys me when people repeat some stereotypical nonsense like headless chickens, and pick up superficial stats to "prove" it without any in depth analysis. Like you for instance, you just used shooting average of 7 shots that Rubio took in that competition. Good game. Clearly a ton of work on your part. What if someone told you that he scored 1.7 points per each of these shots (which he did) in this extremely huge sample? Would you be calling him a better Kevin Martin now? Yes, Rubio's shot is broken. And yes, he was a fairly solid jump shot shooter for most of his career despite that broken shot, which is incredible. But there's far more to say about it than "omg it's going all the way down to 30%, based on these stats I didn't really look at".
some comments about rubio's so-called hype from brandon jennings in this thread. looks like some people made some interesting predictions too. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=170317

Okay this is hard for me. I like Rubio(for his 40yr old looking beard) I like Lin(for his heart) I liked Rondo(for his playfulness) I like Wade(Gabrielle Union) I like Rose(MVP) I loved and still like Johnson(my childhood hero) can we think of a poll with all these guards in it?
Rubio is already a nice player, but unless he fixes his shot (35%! WTF?), I think he's pretty close to his max upside, since he's been playing pro ball for what, like 5-6 years already? Rubio and Lin are nearly identical in dishes and steals per 36, Rubio's a better defender, but I think Lin is underrated as a defender. Also think Lin could be as good on defense if he didn't expend so much energy on offense, something Rubio doesn't. I'll take Lin with the scoring.
And now you've shown that you haven't watched all of Lin's games. All last year, he threw ridiculously on the money pinpoint passes and lobs which resembles that of a quarterback. Several Knick forums separately brought it up. I'm not saying Rubio hasn't done the same and I do like him but if you had seen more than 5 of Lin's games, there is no way you'd miss it and there's no way that you'd not see that Lin is a formidable floor general as much as if not greater than Rubio. And Lin has more of that special something that Magic had. And no I'm not sayin Lin=Magic. Just that the vibe is similar. Killer instinct. Spectacular timing. Infectious passion. Lin's raw by he's 23. I'm good with that

You really should use a dictionary when you don't know the meaning of a word. Pretending as if you do makes you look like an even bigger idiot than when you started. There are free dictionaries on the internet. No one shooting 30-37% from the field is a "fairly solid" jump shooter. Your comprehension of the english language and your degree of butthurt are clearly inversely related. Decrease the butthurt, increase your english language comprehension.
This is pointless. donatas' english language comprehension is at an elementary school level--no joke. You won't get anywhere if you want to have a coherent debate with him/her.
when you don't have a solid argument, revert to insulting someone's language. Very mature. I've defined what I meant. If you are confused about something, tell me, and I'll define it again. It's not rocket science. re Rubio: he shot 20 footers and further at high 30s - low 40s for several years before the last year in Barcelona. I'm not sure if you care, judging by the kneejerk posts you probably don't. Unlike with you, we did have a coherent debate. i simply don't have a huge problem with raskol's take on Lin. My argument was that Rubio is better, not that Lin sucks or can't make a good long pass. He thinks that Lin is at the same level as a passer or better. It would be hard to convince me, when the games I saw and stats tell me otherwise. Nor will I convince him. when you do research, you make mistakes. the important thing is to be mature and open about it and point them out. and of course do the research in the first place.
I'm sure you mean well, but you have basic problems with literacy, grammar, coherence and basic math which make it impossible for me to take you seriously. I'll try anyway. 1. first of all, Rubio shot 30-37% from the field prior to playing in the nba and shot below 35% from the field this past season. He NEVER shot in the low 40% range for a season. 30% is abysmally low. So is 36% So is 37%. He can't shoot. There is no other conclusion. I'm not sure what you mean by "not unlike you." I won't bother to ask for a clarification. Again, forget about Rubio and Lin. Work on your basic literacy skills, then return to the forum when you are ready.
Question: For those of you who have seen Lin and Rubio in action on several occasions. who do you think is the superior passer and why, Rubio or Lin?
