Tangent: I hate to say it, but David Stern was right in his belief that he needed to moderate player behavior. During the last CBA meeting, the players got pissed off and told Stern to stop treating them like child. With all this freedom to act how they want to act, they've really tarnished the game of basketball.

Some people seem like they never want to contend again. It takes bold moves for that to happen. People wanna bring up OKC like that's the blueprint for building a contender. Give me a break. Let's suck for the next 3 years and draft 3 top 5 players and then we will contend! Ya sure.

I understand what Howard is going through. He is staying behind the scenes to avoid all the questioning and so forth. I don't blame him.
Passing up on the kids sounds bad, but i am sure he has his reasons.

 

It was his selfish actions that caused all the negative PR.
How can you not blame him?

I want to contend. I just don't think the Rockets would be in that position as soon as Howard wants. He wants that within the next 2 seasons at least.
It just makes more sense to keep what we have and try to add a top free agent in the offseason.

 

Bynum isnt any better than Howard. Let us not forget the huge cheap shot he gave to Barrea in the playoffs 2 years ago.

 

Again, I don't care about the off the court stuff. Label him as selfish, cancer, AIDS...it doesn't affect the impact he has on the court.

MJ was and is a big douche. Lebron has been labeled every negative word in the book. He had the last laugh.

 

I would think the camp would be a nice getaway for him. These kids don't care about the drama. They just want to see and meet Dwight.

This was brought up in anouther thread and there are actually people stating that it doesn't matter, we should still pursue him. If he is mobile, he should attend, he can have someone physically go through motions for him. But this would have been a perfect opportunity to boost his image.
