it doesn't look like that to me. he falls on the floor horizontally. he was tackled by turiaf with a frustration foul (dying seconds or minutes ). normally when you flop, you go down from vertical to horizontal. in this case, as i saw it, fernandez goes horizontal on the air due to the tackle. this frustration foul by batum follows.
Batum wasn't even intentionally going for the groin area. He was going for the basketball, but Narvarro leaned in just when Batum threw the punch.
Batum has solved the flopping crisis. All David Stern has to do is allow an opposing team a free shot at a player's nuts every time a ref calls a purposeful flop in game. That will clear that **** up right quick. Of course, the players has to HAVE nuts for that threat to work, so Ginobilli is out.
i see no problem with it. I hate floppers, and because it's not penalized i think players have to send a message.

They do. Of course Batum's action is unacceptable, but to be completely honest, I can understand why he did it. Anyone claiming that Rudy's flop wasn't a flop should have his eyes checked out.
BTW, I'm not saying it was the right thing to do, but I woulda done the same thing jut because I hate people who pull that flopping crap. If I felt someone was flopping and we was in a heated battle, I woulda lost my cool and started submarining every single one of them. Cant call a flagarant on me for being too slow, meanwhile they can wind up landing on their necks. Message served.
Batum said it was in retaliation for Spain's flopping. I can't really blame him. I've always wanted to knock someone out for flopping, especially in a pickup game...
