What amazes me about that is that some autistic children can process mathematical beyond any of our comprehension.

I'm just so glad that this family didn't give up.

Found this and not sure what to think anymore.

It's either a very cool story or a very malignant lie.

I was about to post the same thing that you just said yesterday...but I just couldn't bring myself to respond to the stupidity.

You know, it's funny, I've kind of thought the same thing at times. I mean, I've learned a lot about autism because of my son, but I'm NOWHERE an expert. But, I've also wondered at times if it's some sort of evolution. I mean, look at all the movies with the aliens who are far more advanced than us. They are usually MUCH more intelligent and speak telepathically. I know I'm sitting here talking about sci-fi of all things, but with the growing numbers of autism and many of it's traits, it's just something I've pondered and wondered if we are doing a little bit of a disservice trying to conform them into our "normality". Ah, who knows and I might just be coming from left field. LOL!!

Have the discovered or concluded if autism is genetic or not yet?

At least I didn't threaten violence against anyone. Oh, and by the way, if you tried to hit me, the results might not be what you intended. You had better be think about the consequences of instigating violence with a better man.

A parent of an r****ded child has already shown themselves to be deficient genetically when it comes to procreating. What makes you think such a person would do any better when it comes to fisticuffs?

What are you talking about? Genetics aren't the only thing that cause mental r****dation. Legitimate causes are; oxygen deprivation, mother smoking/drinking, incest, and if the mother is 40 years of age or older.
These factors cause or increase the likelihood of a baby coming out mentally handicapped.
Not all cases of mental r****dation are genetically inherited like fragile x-syndrome, causation by influence of environmental factors is common.
Why would you call somebody a lesser man for fathering a special needs child. You are a terrible terrible person.

I really hope that you are saying all of this stuff to try to get a rise out of people. Otherwise, your posts have been so ignorant and unintelligent that it is not even funny. How can someone survive in this world being this either ill informed or stupid? Nothing that you have said holds any merit and we are all now dumber for even reading your posts.

You've proven to be nothing but a coward running your stupid mouth on the internet so the smart money on the other guy if you are involved in an altercation. You've gotten your ass kicked here and are too ignorant to figure it out.

Tell you what, next time there is an Autism Walk in Houston, come on down and say the things you are saying here in front of some of those families. You will get your ass pummelled.

He was obviously committing username suicide. No one can be that stupid in real life.

He's probably already posting under one of his other usernames.

    There's clueless. And then there's clueless *******.

To be fair, anyone who's interacted with AcesHigh7 on this board already knows he is a clueless *******, but this is particularly astounding.

    My favorite part, honestly?

So...not only are you completely stupid, you're uninterested in doing anything about it; actually, you appear to be proud of it. Perturbing.

Maybe if we all just stop responding to trolls, they'll stop.

    Move along with the thread.

I don't know much about Autism, but can it be "cured"? I know someone who is autistic and he goes to some special therapy or something to work on his social skills. They say he's made huge improvements. If it continues, could he eventually be like the average joe, socially?

Unlikely. You can make significant strides and be incredibly high functioning, but it's very unlikely you'd be considered 'normal'.

Which leads to the question, do people with Autism know they are autistic? I know from that movie "Adam" that the guy knows he has Asperger's so he acknowledges his shortcomings and could tell people about it. I think knowing you have a problem could be the key in fixing it.
