Yokohama tires - one smooth drive to the rim!

    Ha, thanks Marc Vandermeer!

You're right, they were with Yokohama.

IN response to the questions about how much is shared with the NBA

    http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q12

So, broadcast rights, arena naming and corporate sponsorship are ALL shared with the NBA.

Dwight has tires on his cars and he likes tires - will they use him and give him some endorsement deal with Lin so we can get him the hell out of Orlando.

All we want is 2 or 3 of your rookies, Toronto and Dallas 1st's, Martin and you take back JRich, who will contribute. I say we make a deal and tell the GM's about it later. Let's hash it out and see if they go for it.

Your link is for the CBA which is b/w owners and the player's union (not owners-owners). BRI is used to determine the salary cap and thus the allocation of revenue that goes from owners to players.

This is the best description of the revenue sharing program I could find. I can't find a specific list of what is shared.

Do you not understand what I posted?

That is THE reference when it comes to CBA issues, from the guy who is the widely recognized foremost expert on CBA issues.

Im well aware of what the CBA is, it is THE document that covers all NBA business.

SO what is your point? Are you disputing Larry Coon's understanding of the rules?

I'm disputing your understanding of what you posted. A collective bargaining agreement is an agreement that covers labor issues b/w an employer (i.e. NBA) and employees who are typically represented by a union (i.e. player's association). CBA's are not limited to the NBA and are labor agreements. By no stretch of the imagination would they cover "all NBA business."

The revenue sharing program is something that is entirely different from the CBA. The CBA and BRI determine what is shared b/w players and the owners. Revenue sharing (what is shared b/w owners) is something else entirely.

Regardless what you think a CBA *should* apply to, the fact remains that the NBA uses that document(the CBA) to determine every possible rule pertaining to how teams operate.

BRI must be calculated since all salaries for the players are reliant on those numbers, adn in order to do that the league must determine just what monies go into the BRI pool.

You are the only person ever to bring up this argument....everyone else that deals with NBA business uses the rules laid out in the CBA.

If you are so convinced that you are right, you might want to inform Coon and the suits at the NBA offices, since they all use the CBA to tell them what they can and cant do.

The CBA and revenue sharing program were ratified separately (but on the same day I believe). They are not the same thing. Please inform Coon on my behalf.

but but but Dolan would NEVER have gotten his money back if he had paid that crazy luxury tax on Lin's contract... are you insinuating that the media was talking out of its azz and that the only NBA team with a superfamous Asian guy on their roster had a much better idea of the real value of a Jeremy Lin? get out

I read from real gm that Revenue from corporate sponsorship based on signage inside the arena is not shared with the rest of the League.

Here is where I read it.

I'm pretty sure a lot of guys on the team is going to be happy Lin is on the team. Remember what Yao did for the other guys with endorsements from China.
