That's a mediocrity play for the Magic as the picks are not really worth much. And getting all of that decent-but-not-great talent will prevent their own pick from being very high. A guy who just came from OKC should know the value of those high picks.

IIRC, base year compensation issues are a big obstacle. Lopez and Humphries can't be traded for "full value"

And those Orlando contracts add up to $35M. Those salaries don't come close to matching.

Even if they did, why would Orlando want anything to do with two of the most wildly overpaid players in the league? They'll have all of Nov and Dec to see how big a mistake those deals were.

Dwight/Jrich/Duhon/Qrich does not add up to 35mil.

Howard is skipping his own basketball camp; he is working at becoming the most hated player in the sport making LJ look like a boy scout. Do not want.

No more of a circus than Howard failing to put out for a franchise that insists on making his life miserable by bringing him to a destination where he's made it clear, he doesn't want to be.

Everybody knows this is the way that Morey operates. And in large part, that's why superstars want to be someplace else.

Orlando's GM doesn't want that reputation amongst the league superstars. he knows that;s a small club of elite players and at some point he's going to pursue one of them through free agency.

That boat has already sailed for Morey. His reputation is crap amongst the superstars in the NBA.

The problem isn't the city of Houston. Anyone would be proud to play there.

The problem is with the Rock's flim / flamming GM.

I don't want Dwight on the Lakers.

I've always like Bynum better than Dwight Howard. The Lakers need a lot of help but one thing they don't need is a center.

So I don't have a horse in this race.

Nobody great wants to play on a Morey team. That's the whisper that's been going around NBA circles for several years now.

The Rocks won't be bringing in any free agent superstars unless it's against their will as long as Morey's the GM.

Even a good guy like Luis Scola gets dumped like a sack of potatoes.

How many guys have the Rocks managed to keep around on the roster for longer than a handful of seasons since Morey arrived?

Does BYC apply to the new CBA? Also, if Brooklyn is over the luxury tax apron, could they only take back 125% of the salaries going out?

He's going into his sixth year. So you're asking who has been around since day 1 of his tenure.

This post is nothing but blind speculation. I hate incredibly presumptuous posts like this. Just awful.

LOL. Stop BSing man. You're just making yourself look stupider with each post. You don't know anything about what the league thinks of Morey. In fact, I've heard from multiple guys a LOT more credible than you, such as SVG, that agents respect Morey because he is very honest and straightforward and doesn't leak information.

THIS...Ive been preaching this about Morey for a while now. When will the homers and Kool aid drinkers smell the roses. It started with the Landry contract, then the AB situation, the TMac situation, Artest running away, Lowry, Martin, Scola, all valuable players treated just like Morey called them...assets. I believe the way TMac (Im not saying Tmac wasn't being a beyootch) situation was handled sent the ripples in the pool. Is it any coincidence that the Rox went from landing just about anyone they wanted, to FA's laughing in the face of the Franchise.

Its almost disgusting how the Rockets fan base fallen so low. We root and cheer on the GM over all the players in the uniforms.

Get it through your heads...its not working out.

The Dwight trade talk lost its urgency when all of the free agents and rookies signed throughout the league. Now, I can't see a deal being done until right before training camp (in two months). No blockbuster ever seems to get done until the eve of a deadline or perceived deadline.

Hey Cdave what player during Morey's tenure was worth keeping for more than a few seasons?

The star players know what's going on pal. Morey's actions speak a lot louder than his words.

Pat Riley is an example of an FO guy players will play for. He gets the big three to come together for less money. He gets a guy like Ray Allen to play for peanuts in Miami when it's clear Allen could've made more money anywhere else he went.

Morey couldn't attract a guy like that if his life depended on it. He couldn't even get Derek Fisher to stay.

It's not about Houston. Great city, great sports town, Rockets have a solid tradition with championships and great former players to boot. Home of Akeem and Elvin Hayes. Better than 90% of the places in the NBA where a player could ever hope to play.

That's not the problem at all.

Players know about Morey and nobody is surprised that he's trying to force Howard to Houston because it's what everyone has come to expect from this guy.

They know it's the kind of low character, no class play that can be expected from him. That's the way he rolls.

If you "don't have a horse in this race" why are you posting here? GTFO.

Haha, GTFO is right. Keep making up more lies, this is entertaining.

Simpler explanation by the way: LeBron went to Miami because Wade already lived there and it's a much nicer place to live and larger market than Cleveland. Better city, better weather, better basketball team with a superstar friend to play alongside. Bosh rode in on the coattails of the other two, and other players keep signing up cheap because they want to win rings with the big three.

Notice who doesn't appear anywhere in this equation? Pat Riley.

If put Morey in Miami and Riley in Houston you can bet your bottom dollar things would have gone down the same way--LeBron, Wade, and Bosh together in Miami with other players tagging along.

By the way, about the Miami situation... you do realize they cut their entire team to make the big three happen?
