He was never a Rocket with Morey. Maybe that one transition year. Basically, he left to the Spurs when Morey took over.

Since KOC moved upstairs from the GM position, will he remain the real power behind shaping the Jazz roster?
I wanted him back with the Rockets! Nonetheless, congrats to Mr. Lindsey. Off the top of my head, Spurs have lost Lindsey, asst coach Vaughn, asst coach Newman, and Ferry. I'm sure it's next man up there and/or they'll just reload.
Jazz will forever be my most hated team. First the Malone/Stockton playoff hits in the late 90s, then the Boozer/Williams playoff knockouts in the mid 00s.
He was here before Morey and got passed over for the GM job that was given to Morey. They have nothing connecting them.
Which only goes to show how amazing the people at the top of Spurs organization are. They've gone through sooooooooo many assistants, front office execs, if you look at the league, a good % of teams have someone that was groomed under the Spurs management in one shape or form, and the Spurs have not skipped a beat since.
And those assistants end up being garbage. Say for a lucky Sam Presti (Durant). All of the coaches are worthless.
There are reports saying that the Jazz are pretty behind the league in the analytical research and that's why they hire a new GM to try to improve it.
