How come Huston got rid of some good players like Camby, Isola? Are Parson, Asik good enough to be the center and forward? If Huston can nit get Howard, can they get another superstar? They should get Derick Fisher here to back up Lin. And also Lin should get Jefferies, Novak and Shields to Huston. They are the ones who won the 10 games with Lin.
lol who cares how good we are currently. It's how good our youngsters can be in the future that really matters.
It'd be fantastic to get a lottery pick and then come into the 2013-2014 free agency with so many assets, cap space and better seasoned youngsters. Morey himself has said that he doesn't feel D-Mo is quite an NBA starter yet. Last year the Nets played with a Deron who had one foot out of the door, an often injured Brook and they didn't have Gerald Wallace until the end of the season. Their line-up definitely looks good, although I'm skeptical of how effective Joe can be. Definitely one of the stronger teams in the East.
What ranking were we given last year? One of the sportscasters on NBAtv said we had a stronger team than we did then (I guess he might have been suggesting that our rookies' skills would readily translate to the NBA)
If we're going to be the 2nd worst team in the league, I'd want to at least be the worst team in the league.
i think he's starting to open up the season, and it will be on the other guys to prove they can take over that job.
or maybe the other side needs to prove that he def. is? but how? there are not enough measurements available. endorsement deals/shoe sales/jersey sales. he was 2nd in the NBA in jersey sales last year, but that's because he came out of nowhere last year. is that sustainable, even if he stays good? or maybe it will only grow and he'll become #1 with a full season, who knows. I'm not comfortable to make that conclusion from that single number. And I haven't seen any others. but from personal experience: in Lithuania, he's not just not popular, he's a relative unknown here for most people. and we are a basketball country. but most people aren't attuned to the American media. i can imagine he's more well known in English speaking countries who follow American media more. Australia is the obvious suspect, since they like basketball, they are English speakers, and ESPN is relatively big there. Taiwan, China and whatever other places associate with Lin for racial reasons. But guys like Beckham, Kobe, maybe also Federer, Ronaldo, Tiger Woods (not so sure about these 3), they are known everywhere. You may not follow them, but you'll see them in commercials selling some perfume or underwear. Your country may not care about the sport, but the media around you will still feel obligated to report on whatever new records they broke.
The rankings are harsh . But I like it this way, this team has a lot of young unproven guns so I won't be expecting us to be on the top 15 anytime soon. No other way to go but up . Also, seen the Wizards' logo? It hella funny
