i didn't get to see the 1st quarter, but watching the 2nd and 3rd quarter i think manu ginobili might have called a more even game if he had the whistles. seemingly every out of bounds was somehow off team USA (the tipped ball that wasn't and lebron's bounce pass to chandler that was knocked out cleanly by argentina yet called out on chandler were the best). chandler gets a 4th foul because ginobili grabbed him and flopped, lebron gets his 4th foul on about the cleanest block of the game followed shortly by melo getting hit on his next layup with no call and deron williams getting shoulder blocked on 2 straight drives with no call followed by carmelo getting punched in the groin with no call. if coach K is that mad you know stuff was getting bad. and argentina still got their flopping, cheap-shotting b**** asses ran out of the gym. i wish someone on the team was expendable enough to deck someone in retaliation for that groin punch.

also, every time i see anthony davis he just seems so legit.

also also, kobe has been awful.

Kobe is simply the worst player on the team at this point. Still tries to "close", not good enough (compared to other options). I guess there must be intangibles/ locker room presence, but on the court they'd be better off with another big. Greg Monroe? KG would be an awesome fit for this team, but I suppose he may not want to grind through summer anymore.

So what is Bryant's excuse for being a horrible chucker on a team with vastly superior players? He hurts the team almost every play.

Coincidence, penalty shootouts most of the times end like this in my book. Wanted to confuse him a bit.

Yea...I don't really like this meme. Kobe's been in the league since he was like 18, so he should pretty much be in the top 5 for total minutes played for active players. Of course when you're one of the active leaders in all time minutes played, your other stats such as points, rebounds, and assists should be as well. A stat with the per game averages should be more fitting of his assist numbers.

Looks like his career assits-per-game is 4.7. Almost 5. Not too bad, lol. I was expecting like 2-3, lol.

Same, higher than I thought lol. Then again Kobe's proved himself a pretty solid passer in his career...when he wants to.

It's not necessarily about his apg, more about the ratio between fga and apg. He takes so many shots that 5ast don't really prove him to be a team player. When you take 30 shots and make 5 assists you are still a selfish player.

Kobe is at 4.7 assists a game for his career. That number has been brought down a little bit by the fact that he didn't get much playing time as a rookie.

As you can see by the numbers below, when compared to his peers at the SG position, his average is below only Jordan, West, Drexler (surprising), and Wade.

Wade and West could actually be considered point guards to some, so their high assist numbers are understandable.

    Kobe - 4.7
    MJ - 5.3
    West - 6.7
    T-Mac - 4.4
    Drexler - 5.6
    Wade - 6.2
    Ray Allen - 3.6
    Roy - 4.4
    Ginobili - 3.9
    Dumars - 4.5
    Joe Johnson - 4.4
    Earl Monroe - 3.9
    Gervin - 2.6
    Reggie Miller - 3.0.
Martin - 2.1 (Just cause we're in a Rockets forum).

It's plain to see that he didn't just accumulate the assists by playing a lot of minutes. He's not really the ball hog that the memes portray him to be.
