After the huge buildup of womens' soccer, mens' basketball seems boring. Only in the Olympics.

I think it has to be the commentators. This game needs Gus Johnson asap.

I didn't want to look back past this page because of spoilers, but how about Justin Gatlin last night? Thirty years - old out of competition for 4 years and he comes back last night with his lowest time time of his career. That's impressive.

Really suspicious, I already mentioned that athletes don't get tested once during their whole ban period. You can take whatever you want, train hard and then clear your system when you're back or take the usual stuff.

Yeah, it is odd that he lowered his all time best last night, but unless they are using something undetectable he's been tested too many times since returning to be going through doping cycles right now.

So, does anyone know whether Aliya Mustafina is a Muslim? She is Tatar. Her name is certainly Arabic in origin (and so is her dad's name, Farhat Mustafin). So her family most likely have been Muslims at some point. Not sure if they still practice (that Soviet Union thing didn't promote religions).

Anyone check out some pictures of US women's soccer Sydney Leroux in street clothes? Goodness, I'd only rate Kim Glass from the 2008 volleyball team higher on my list.

A quick Google search suggests that yes, she is Muslim, though I would've personally guessed otherwise. The minute I heard/saw her name I knew she was a Tatar, though.

I felt that a lot of Americans were thrown off guard when Dabby Douglas won the all around golden medal, because it's not the norm when a black girl wins in gymnastics. They are not really convinced.

I can't believe NBC was showing Mustafina smiling during gaby's mistake. That is kind of mean.

She realized she had won the Gold medal. They're supposed to show the emotions.
