honestly I think the people on this board are making a WAY bigger deal of this than they should. All they are saying is that the Olympic Uniforms should go back to being red, white or blue..that they should have the countries colors on them again. They said absolutely NOTHING negative about Gabby or any other athletes - just that the teams should go back to wearing the national colors like China and other countries do. This is in no way a "hit" on Gabby.

without wearing red, white,or blue, is there a shred of a doubt that the US athletes on the olympics are representing USA, proud to be American, and are patriotic?

The athletes aren't making the call. I watched the video after reading your post and they didn't mention the athletes or call their patriotism into question.

    Exactly.

I'm not a Fox News guy at all, but what exactly is the problem with this video?

Its because it is Fox News. If this were on CNN nobody would have said anything. Remember, MSNBC showed "Obama Bin Laden is Dead" on a graphic to tens of millions around the world and nobody said anything. The Sacramento Fox affiliate (not Fox News) did the same showed the same graphic to a few hundred thousand people and it immediately went viral on reddit, facebook, blogs, etc as a part of "Fox News Bias".

Honestly, I don't watch Fox News either..but it the media watchdogs were scrutinizing the other networks like they do Fox, you'd see just as many mistakes and bad editing decisions. I've worked in TV for almost 20yrs now..and I see it all the time on ALL networks.

"She's in hot pink. And that's her prerogative."

and what's with the American spectators being celled out for not chanting USA? isn't cheering and supporting the American athletes enough?

The frequent mention of "soft patriotism" due to lack of red/white/blue is throughout the video.

I personally find it disgusting. Two people sitting around a news desk questioning the "soft patriotism" of people who have sacrificed more for their country for the opportunity to compete.

Falls right in line with this right wing mentality that true patriotism is about sitting at home watching Fox News while wearing American flags.

**** the tea party. **** the ultra-conservative right.

i sometimes find it a bit uncomfortable when I see old men (coaches) massage these 15 year olds prior to an event.

Agreed no big deal though the guy wants a sort of crude simplistic patriotism which is sort of in bad taste and is a sort of braggart with no manners, but hey there are people like that.

There is a good reason why our Olympic Committee concerned rightfully with our image had a bit more class.

He wants us to have our athletes and spectators act like British soccer fans?
