I think the OP works at a hospital. If it was a Workaholic's like environment or even Goldman Sachs, it'd be different for obvious reasons... Most prudent course of action: Ask yourself what you're setting out to accomplish: Annoyance? Lack of work performance? Work Safety? Then follow up with the manager If the manager isn't competent enough to get the crack smoker rehab papers in writing, then follow up with HR. The quicker, the sooner. But also make note that the louder you get, the more noticeable you are to being a snitch. Ask your inquiries with discretion.
Yes, many can. I did for two years and eventually quit. It sounds like you have no idea what it feels like to be high on coke. The rest of your paragraph is completely irrelevant to what I said.
I got fired from my last job based on upsetting the workplace environment of people who've drank and done drugs while on the job. But they had boobies and I didnt. I wonder if it was a guy if he'd be seen as a complete a-hole bum. I say report it discreetly dont even make a big scene out of it. And find a way for the person to get ONE SHOT to accept treatment.
Ok dude first off a comp. even if this did happen has to get her mandatory help, and then they could fire her, but yes even nurses attend NA andAA...and some continue use, yes you can function on drugs....evenCocaine perfectly normal.... Cops can't do anything blow it...be that guy. HR will force rehab and she's back to work I've met lots of nurses who actually have been in far worse trouble, if it's nurses, and if it's not than this relates nurses take care of people, anyways seen some crazy stories, they end up in rehab, and they end up back nursing. Just letting ya know, this isn't an isolated incident anywhere in the world espesh London (biggest coke consumer in the world...)
I never reported them, an old friend/coworker who was doing it with them ratted them out to the manager after she was gone. But half the small work crew would have been terminated lol, so they just swept it under. They never ordered a drug test or wrote anyone up, just dismissed her story as bitter disgruntled employee and never tried to find evidence. Out of sight out of mind. (I actually told the manager that I can understand not going through with that. Though that didnt stop him and those same people later on from being self righteous and judgemental of everyone ELSE and ME. I was a low performing employee so I deserved to let go. But since he was cool with a lot of them and wanted to keep a "pleasant atmosphere" , he'd still take their input and complaints over mine. a ridiculous double standard )
Professionally, maybe; you might want to check your Employee Code of Conduct or any regulatory boards for your profession. Legally speaking I don't think so. I think kid stuff is actually the only thing people are required to report, and even then only people in specific child monitoring positions like teachers, nurses, cops or other caretakers.
You are correct. I have absolutely no idea what it is like to be high on coke. I find it hard to believe that anyone is operating at optimum efficiency while high on coke. I would not want to be on a plane with a pilot high on coke, in a cab with a driver high on coke, operated on by a doctor high on coke, being taken care of by a nurse high on coke, having a person high on coke deal with my finances, have a lawyer high on coke or deal with anyone high on coke. Are you saying that you have no problem with any of the above scenarios? You wouldn't mind if a doctor operating on you was a coke addict and high during the operation?
Well sir I agree with you; you have not seen much in your life have you? I think that this is a bit wild, you should let the manager deal with it. If you see it again, report it. This is not shocking, what's shocking is you digging through her stuff...but if she told you, that's her fault..but ya sir, I agree, but the world we live in is for the most part not doing stuff like that, but there prob. are nurses, doctors, anthesiologists, taxi drivers, pilots, and many more occupations that are on a "drug" What's yor stance on anti-depressants I'd they are prescribed to someone, then it's affecting their brain in a different way than normal, yet they operate normal... And anti-depressants release I believe the same dopamine that is released when doing coke, heroin, smoking, drinking a coke etc. does to one. They used to put "coke" in Coca-Cola btw I don't agree with what happend...but to think how you're thinking in such small micro theories happens far more often than you may believe...
Not quite sure what you mean here. Are you saying I haven't seen much because I haven't been high on coke?
No I'm saying have you been to college, and maybe seen people high... Or in high school ? No I read you have not done coke, nor have I... I have seen plenty of people on it. Espesh in college it was seen a lot That's what I meant.
You made this gossip sound so different, out of this world can't believe it... Well do something about it if you want ... Learn, and when you are higher up don't deal with it. If you are too low of an employee sit back and grab some popcorn buddy... Life is just a ride man...
