    Crazy is crazy regardless of Race, Sex, Religion, etc. Let's not spend this time speculating on the unknown but focus on the known which is that we have at least 3 innocent people dead and many families affected by this terrible crime. The truth on the rest of the story will seep through eventually and then we can speak of hate, terrorism, and the other aspects of this deviststing shooting. I pray for peace and reasoning for the people affected by this and my brother in Blue who made the ultimate sacrifice when he was the first responder to this incident.

    In order to come even close to accurately making that statement, you need to compare the offenses to the proportion of the population that are victims of hate crimes. You may be right, but the stats you provided are absolutely meaningless.

    Unlike certain other attacks, media is being careful not to "pre-judge" what happened. I have no idea if it was hatred, ignorance, psychological issues, something else, or a combination of those. I do know it is pathetic and disgusting.

    Pray for the victims and their families.

    IT states the number of victims is 1,552 of religious hate crimes in 2010. 9.1% of 1552 is 141. 141 for all 'other religions' . I would guess that's around 20 victims a year are Sikh. Yes you would want to compare to the population, but that's such a small number I doubt it's necessary.


    Somebody makes a claim Sikhs are getting targeted more since 9/11. I suggest they aren't. ohhhhhh!!!! I feel terrible. What have I done.

    Aren't your stats referring to the bias of the perpetrator, rather than the actual religion of the victim? The contention is that Sikhs are being disproportionately targeted because they are being confused with Muslims. So is that counted in those stats as an "Other" crime or an anti-Muslim crime?

    hate crime stats say they are treated just as well as everyone else , if not better. Jews are the ones that really take a beating.

    first off, you don't know why it was done and second your ethics are simply wrong.

    I got no beef with anyone. Just disagree with the fellows assertion about Sikhs being attacked more, but if it helps you sleep at night go around spreading more hate. Today of all days you choose to do this?

    Good point, and relative to population Muslims are treated very well compared to the Jews. it's 12.7% for Muslims in 2010 so from 1552 that's 197. lets say 10% of those are Sikhs being mislabeled so that is 20 a year. Obviously anything over 0 is sad, but relative to other religions it's a smaller number.

    Can we stop focusing on irrelevant details? People were killed today, that's important. If they were victims of a hate crime may be important (for the safety of others in the immediate future). Arguing over whether or not this is more common since 9/11 or which religion has gotten the worst of hate crimes is pointless today and reeks of D&D partisan BS.

    What do you want to do. . . send prayers to the dead? Write a post about how terrible this event is . . . Put in a + to show you're a good Christian . . . Then go back to the comfort of knowing it happened far away from you?

    You're an enabler for the next shooting because you shield yourself from the reality. And the reality is guns need to be outlawed.
