I think it's more due to the fact that RG3 is just carries himself in a really engaging and appealing manner. His teammates have already talked about what a natural leader he his and how he's made such a huge effort to talk to every guy at camp. That and he's just a great story in a day and age where you have something like 30 NFL players getting arrested in the offseason.

Yeah, I'd say his INTs will be a little lower, but this looks about right. I'm ridiculously excited about watching him this year.

That's also true, but rarely has a rookie (who wasn't even the #1 pick) been so plastered everywhere. Andrew Luck is a model citizen too, but he's not exactly burning up the air waves. Cam Newton was a phenom and a national champion and heisman winner, but he didn't really get his ad machine rolling until the NFL season ended. Good guy or not, his agent deserves a pat on the back.

And that site moes' posted sounds pretty spot on, I'd say he's going to struggle with turnovers, a little feast or famine sometimes, but otherwise definitely starter material, especially in 12+ team leagues.

Things came so easy to him under Art Briles. He might be in for a shock. But I'm sure Shanny is going to baby him. I imagine the initial shock affects him though. I expect to see mistakes.

Thanks for the replies. I would definitely draft this guy as a back up but given the shark league I'm in pretty sure he'll get snatched up. I won't buy the hype!

Obviously his agent is doing his job but like Rocketman said, it's easy to market a guy like RGIII. I also think he's getting more run than Luck because he is on the Redskins. Even though the colts have a solid fan base, they aren't near the redskins

I like RG3 and hope he becomes a top 5 QB down the line, but I don't think his rookie season will live up to what some of you expect. What Cam Newton did last year after the lockout was exceptional and RGIII won't come close to it IMO.

You guys are too Texas (which isn't a bad thing). I heard nothing about the Skins growing up here, but when I moved out to DC, it was completely different. They have their claws all the way down to South Carolina..lots of history, lots of money in the DMV, lots of power, and it's a top 10 market. The Skins are always high up on the Forbes value list.
    #1 Manchester United ($2.23 billion)
    #2 Real Madrid ($1.88 billion)
#3 New York Yankees ($1.85 billion)
    #3 Dallas Cowboys ($1.85 billion)
    #5 Washington Redskins ($1.56 billion)

Combine that with the other points you guys have made: his charisma, his looks, and his on-field dynamic plays, and you have a cash cow marketing tool. His interviews has been great. Luck is a stud too, but he comes off dorky and plays in Indianapolis...which means he needs to win and his marketing power will come in time. RGIII is already the prince of DC.

Kinda makes me worried about what might happen should the day come the Cowboys land a top 3 pick/heisman winner in the draft. The media would be swangin' on dem nutz before he even makes it out of Radio City Music Hall. Honestly, I don't look at Griffin and think "media darling". Charisma aside, he's not Tom Brady-looking, and his college teams didn't exactly command a huge spotlight. The Heisman raised his profile a ton, but I really had no idea the Washingtoning following would have the supposed effect it's having, that's insane. Cam Newton is the perfect counterweight; Heisman + national title + charisma + good looks... but he ended up in Carolina, and I guess that really limited his marketability until he tore it up in the NFL.

Cam Newton does not have good looks man, his forehead or jaw or something is too big, cant exactly pin it down. Now that short Wisconsin QB, that dude is a looker. ASU guy too, I think Denver took him. But c'mon - Cam Newton?

This. If Cam came to DC last year, he'd be getting the same deals before his record breaking sesaon. Actually, I think Cam's smile is more infectious than pretty much anyone. Put that dude in in a major media market and his Q score will skyrocket even further.

Why in the f are we talking about smiles here? It's only gravy but if you don't have the game it don't mean jack. I wish the best in RGIII but I'm not buying the hype.
