I will keep you and your wonderful family in my prayers as well, wish her the best too and a rapid recovery
Funny you should ask... We rep H-Town all the way in this household...she doesn't fully understand all the rules of the NFL yet, but she will watch it with daddy. Getting Texans gear in Australia is like finding a gold coin in the mouth of a fish!
my thoughts and prayers are with you and your daughter. Isn't it amazing how much we can learn from our kids. Your daughter defines what courage is ALL about, and I can only imagine how proud you are of her. Take it one day at a time, and I feel quite certain that the good Lord has wonderful things in store for her. Please continue to keep us posted on how she's doing.
Sensational! And MATE! you should've let me know, I just came back from Houston to Melbourne, woulda brought some merch over for ya. Haha, heading back in a month though.
I would've probably packed it in by now. (Aussie slang for given up) I just told her that she is the bravest little girl, and that she has endured so much without even grumbling or being bitter. she texted me the other week from hospital saying that she will 'get better for you daddy, real soon.' That is a champion attitude. Here is a photo just before all the complications, I was teaching her how to cook chilli chicken breast. She has only ever asked me once, 'why did this happen to me daddy?' I told her that sometimes bad things happen to good people...(thank the Lord for The Lion King!). She said 'that makes sense Dad.' and she just keeps on keeping on, and in the highest of spirits.
That would be awesome! She is a Houston girl, by default, but I think she would look pretty cute in the NC sky blue Her eyes light up every time she gets anything, no matter how big or small.
Great. I think there is more universal recognition of the UNC's Carolina blue, so we'll go in that direction. Can you email me a mailing address or is it in here somewhere? Size indications. Basketball I resume. I have 10 and 12 YO daughters who would love to make her a card of some sort...
Sent you an email. I just showed Tayleesha this post and she said that she is 'soooo excited to get a card from your daughters' What an angel! Thank you mate.
have you traveled to NY or LA or have the doctors been talking back and forth overseas? reason I ask is there is a foundation I support holding a symposium on pediatric brain tumors this fall. maybe there are other resources that you would be interested in. http://pablove.org/brain-tumor-symposium/ I can't help but get emotional reading the updates. Tayleesha seems so chill about all this. but was she ever in any pain before or after her surgeries or treatments? and did she ever get that personalized #99 jersey. I would be willing to contribute to a group donation to get her that thing shipped overseas if anyone else is willing to participate...
We haven't had to travel yet, our doctors are liaising back and forth. Some tissue samples have been sent to L.A. & N.Y. She one that will rarely complain about any pain that she is in. She is a little more scared of needles now, aren't we all, and since starting chemotherapy she has been getting stomach cramps and upset tummy. She is really taking this in her stride like a trooper. It is really humbling, because as adults we can blow things out of proportion and get overly emotional about things that have no real bearing on our life...then you have my little girl who is still more concerned with her sisters, brother and friends wellbeing than her own circumstances. We haven't ordered her jersey yet, but I should have it by the start of the season. NBA.com sells personalised jerseys...it is cheaper to order a few jerseys, caps and a beenie ( and my wife wants a Rockets hoodie, yessss!) because of shipping.
Good luck. You are blessed to have a great daughter. It's not fair that bad things happen to good people. I don't know you or your family but I truley wish for nothing but the best and a cure for your daughter. The way you are handling this is insperational.
