you cant see it if you arent black and on the other side, fornuately for me i grew up in a nice family, and had work values instilled in me. Trust me, you start to see things a lot different when you are up in a social ladder

At first i would wonder why so many successful black men married non-black women. But you can only see this if you are on that side, unfornately a lot of us( who look like me) arent, so its easy to throw the sellout card.

Nia Long, and Tessa Thompsons are very rare in my world. I would ultimately wanna marry a black woman one day. My parents would like that as well, but they arent shortsided and would respect my decision either way. Because like i said my parents have been here in the USA for a good while now. So they see the options out there for me, and would understand if i went another route.

The only reason why the report of these bw and their gay assoicates was even heard was because this is the Olympics. American bw have been trashing successful blacks for years( unless they are rappers lol). It just shows that even a 16 year old who is confident.. beautiful, and an amazing athlete has to worry about bw being bitter and hating her because she is confident, and isnt a bitter pos

I would say close to 80% of the reason bw are single are because of their chioce in men. You cant label a black man who wants to date a black women a badboy, if thats all they want to date anyways. Trust me and its true a lot of bw in my age group are taken, have kids, have grossly tattoos that i dont approve of, or just flat out want badboys.

I made a decision in HS, that i wasnt gonna change who i was for anybody. Im still here typing to you today, no arrest records nothing. And i am able to have a good and normal dating life.

Its so easy to tell a man you love him, when you are desperate with 2 or 3 kids. And have no one to turn too. I hate to play what ifs, but what if she didnt have any kids( would i still be her desired choice).. PROBABLY NOT

I don't think this is as bad as a basso/bigtexxx D&D thread highlighting a black issue with pseudo concern.

But when you're framing a thread about race related issue, its preferrable to keep out any bias. When you lightly insinuate that the problem is bad enough that it makes black men have to disown the women of his own race to avoid "shanking", it maybe adds negative bias.

Though he did make it about black men offering views. You might not LIKE the views they have, but thats whats happening.

 

as an oyibo, i'm pretty familiar with this mise-en-scene...black Africans v black Americans. Huge cultural differences but, ultimately, people are people.
