You sound like a John Grisham novel.

Ha! Nothing that exciting ... Let's put it this way, the highlight of the last few weeks has been buying my wife a mini van... and I won't be retiring anytime soon or having any financial windfalls with a wife and coming baby..

Job Search Tip of the Day August 2, 2012

Read the book What Color Is Your Parachute? by Richard Nelson Bolles. It has a great deal of valuable and inspirational advice.

Email me your contact info through the thread as we might be able to use your services sometime in the future.

I work in architecture and have worked on a few stadiums and performance venues.

Also martial arts instructor and guitar player in a Celtic Punk band.

I am very proud of my most recent title given to me by the most Honorable Bigtexxx as "Moo Goo Gai Pan" of the D & D. :p

    Mid-size multi-national firm

I actually learned this in college in a more biz oriented class. Probably one of the more relevant useful irl things I've learned...

I think an excel spreadsheet is the easiest way to go to keep track of everything. Google Doc it, then script out reminders on the calendar.

Include a brief quote (no more than 3 lines) from a letter of recommendation, performance evaluation, or "kudos" email on your resume.

This one is great. Would you include just the quote or who said it? I have a nice list of e-mails from some of our larger clients that I'm holding for salary negoitations at my current job, but never thought of using them in a resume.

    - Started out working on Helicopters for the Army out of HS.

    - Got may FAA Airframe & Powerplant license when I ETS'd out of the army in the 80's.

    - Worked for Delta Airlines for a couple of decades. I was able to help to give Clutch and Smegg a buddy pass. Both can probably tell you that buddy passes can be a major pain in the ass to use.

    - Worked as the Director of Maintenance of Corprate Aircraft for the Dallas Mavericks during the Jim Jackson, Jason Kidd, Jamal Mashbourn years. I worked directly for the son in law of Don Carter but wore my Houston Rockets cap to work one day in a very small office just to see if anyone noticed. No one noticed till about lunch when I was imeadiatly given my choice of free Mavericks gear. I accepted a cap and tossed it with out ever wearing it as soon as I got home. I got to set courtside just a few seats from the owner on multiple occassions including one game against the Rockets with my feet in the court. I quit and went back to Delta after Don Carter sold the team to Ross Perot.

    - Worked as an Airline Consultant for a division of Olyver Wyman doing reliability checks and validating maintenance programs for different airlines.

    - Currently work as an Inspector for Bell Helicopter.

How was the transition from prosecutor to private practice? I'm a 2L at the moment clerking at the prosecutors office with hopes of being hired there or in a surrounding county at graduation, but I'm afraid that I might pigeonhole myself and my skill set.

Considering your chosen name here, your occupation scares the s*** out of me.
