I think the center position is the best possible solution for Royce if he's going to get any playing time. Other than Dwight and Bynum, the league is lacking in low-post dominant centers right now. I don't see why he can't fill a type of Chuck Hayes role considering he's got the strength and athleticism - plus he's a little taller than Chuck. I don't think Royce is a 3. He just doesn't have the quickness or jumpshot. Rebounding is a great strength of his. Why waste it on the perimeter?

Royce is a good ball-handler and has great play-making ability. I'd like to see him on the court next season. Besides height, he definitely has the tools for the job - dude's 260! We may have the league's first point-center :)

    What say you guys?

If he learns to defend at chucks level when he was a rocket, then I don't see why not.

He's best as a point power forward. Just because Chuck Hayes was serviceable as a 5 doesn't mean he wasn't better as a 4.

Similar thoughts here. To me, he has the style of a Barkley or Karl Malone. He's a bit undersized at 6'8" but he plays big, has great feel around the rim, and can finish. Plus he has a large, wide frame to box out rebounds, so I think he could certainly play the 5 in stretches.

I think he'll be one of the better guys on the receiving end of any sort of pick and roll.

I'm cool with Royce either being a C or PF. We just have a glutton of PF's, and I don't believe he's a three. Just trying to get my man some court time.

So if Royce is your 2nd string PF, who is your 2nd string Center? I think you gotta play T.Jones there if not Royce. You want Terrence in the post if you want to play to his strengths. Harrellson is an option, but ideally you want your most skilled players on the floor (I do anyway) even if they are somewhat out of position. I think Ppat's going to be pulling end-of-bench duties this year. Dmo's starting 4.

Royce White is not athletic. Just because you weigh a lot doesn't make you a center, it just means your fat....

I'm not convinced that D-Mo will be a starting 4, but we'll have to see. One thing in his favor is that D-Mo does come off as a bit of a Dirk-lite to me.

T-Jones is definitely not a center. I think he'll mostly likely be playing the 3, competing with Parsons.

Royce White is a solid 4. He's got big time size (as in girth and strength) and plays big. Who knows? Perhaps he'll be starting there. We'll have to see after they're all on the court.

2nd string center? A combination of D-Mo, Harrelson, and White manning the backup duties.

That's a good comparison - except for the playmaking.

Haha you guys were talking about CHUCK HAYES. Well then, apparently I'm a little higher on White than others here ;)

I would much rather he stayed at PF, but he could be a good center as well. The SF thing scares me because of his weight.

I think Dmo needs to bulk up quite a bit more before he's ready to play the 5. Terrence Jones is best utilized in the post. He's a good rebounder and shot-blocker. Here's what Friedman said about him, "Currently the most consistent part of Jones’ offensive arsenal in the half court can be found when he sets up shop on the low block."

Yah I agree. I take the part about D-Mo being a backup 5 back. I'd stick with Harrelson and White possibly.

D-Mo's a 7 footer, but he's just too slight in the 5 position oddly enough. With virtually no shot blocking and underwhelming rebounding, I'm not sure why people are so high on him...?

T-Jones is probably the most athletic of the forwards, while White, I believe, will be the best rebounder of the bunch.
