been around since the .com days. went by LaughinJ back then. wow...15+ years...longest relationship EVER.
Started reading in '98. Didn't sign up until Clutch started disabling the board for stretches of a time to nonmembers in 2001. Seems like Clutch also didn't allow "generic" free email accounts (yahoo, hotmail, etc) to register back in those days, which made it harder for me at the time.
Lurking since clutchcity. Not much of a typer, therefore my voice is silent on many issues. People that know me would say that's a good thing. Funny thing is that I feel as if I know many of you.
11 years, wow. I really think I first registered in 2000 because that's when a coworker first told me about the site. I've never been able to figure out what that username is though...if it even exists. Maybe I just lurked for a year.
The original clutchcity.com was hosted off of a .edu URL at the very beginning (pre-Barkley, but barely) and would play a different MIDI tune every few weeks. For a little while, 'clutch mail' was cooler than the forum (that was after the .com switch though and very short-lived, iirc)! Although, I've been Turbo for a long time, I went by 'Watson' on a couple of old posts, as well. When the board switched over in Feb '99, we all had to re-register our usernames, otherwise, I'd definitely be up there! The original forum is what I miss most - there was great Rockets discussion where you could actually engage in intelligible conversation. Most original forum users had websites of their own, but Clutch had one of the few and certainly, best forum. Crazy to think how long I've visited this site...
Its been a while since I posted. The Bubba part of my name is nickname of one the greatest Presidents of our time!
This thread makes me feel old. It's been over 10 years for me on here. I was here before drafted Yao. In fact, I think I remember my first post was about how we should draft Caron Butler, since everyone assumed we were going to get pick #5 in the lottery. I remember literally jumping up and hitting my head on the ceiling when we got the #1 pick.
Received my first computer back in 96.It had a 286 processor 14mb of ram and blazing fast 14.4 modem. After getting it set up and installing my free AOL trial software,I was like ok so what in the hell do I do with this thing ? Very first thing I searched for was Houston Rocket's and found Clutch's site.Hard to imagine it's been that long ago.My youngest daughter hadn't even started pre-school and she'll be 21 next month
What a cleverly disguised thread to get the real original lurkers to post something. Now everyone wants to brag. Brilliant!!
i was looking on here I'm pretty sure in 99. but i signed up later. always wished that i would have initially. still been 10 years though
