fair point, but i think Lamb should have gone top 7, which means the expectation is that he's a franchise buildingblock type of player. He certainly has the talent. All i'm saying is that at #12, i didn't expect us to be able to aquire someone of Lamb's stature. You usually have to be in the top of the lotto to get a guy like Lamb.
Greene is a guy that had the physical tools/talent but just didn't have the bball IQ,also seems to have some motor/motivation issues. No comparison at all to the type of player Lamb is. For every DG type of guy that doesn't translate well to the NBA,you could name dozens of guy's that played well in SL that also go on to have great NBA careers.
D-Mo Lamb Lin Our big 3. I'm beginning to think that Lin was still underrated even during this offseason. Miss playoffs this year, high draft picks, make playoffs next year, conference contention third year, then whatever else after that. It's actually kind of exciting now that this Dwightmare garbage is behind us.
It's not even remotely "behind us". Hate to break it to you, but we're still the frontrunners to trade for Dwight before the season starts (and he almost certainly WILL be traded before the season starts).
Would you have made that comment if it were about Anthony Davis? I'm guessing not but of course he has no NBA experience either. All he said is that Lamb is a building block not a finished product, sheesh
http://www.coachlamb.webs.com/ I guess he's a motivational speaker now? Good sign the Jeremy won't be a head case, at least.
Lamb and Davis have equal resumes/abilities, so anything said about one should be perfectly applicable to the other. Shaq was the last player i thought a sure thing prior to NBA play. LeBron was tempting too, but the high schooler thing tempered my enthusiasm. my very best hopes for Lamb, but no, not appointing him the next coming sans NBA play.
There is only 1 player I'd compare him to from what I've seen from him. I don't want to embarrass myself because he is no where near who I'm thinking of. But dammit to hell if he doesn't make me think of Kobe. I can't give you much more than general things I've seen from him like his footwork, his spin around jumper, and maybe his shot at mid/close range. Kobe was the first guy I thought of after seeing him in the summer league. I know it sounds stupid and silly but thats what I see. I don't see limits for Jeremy. Mind, body, and soul he is a basketball player 100%. We will know in a few months how off my comparison is so don't write me a bunch of replies stating how stupid my comparison is. It's better than Ray Allen with a basketball.
Nope but your reasoning for blowing off the excitement about Lamb is that he has not logged any NBA minutes. That was your entire reasoning. Lamb has shown tons of potential, many have called him the best pure scorer drafted this season. He showed a ton during summer leagues and yet your entire reason for blowing off the excitement of having Lamb as a rookie on the the Rockets and rolling your eyes at those who are excited was his lack of NBA experience. So don't act confused when someone calls you out on it. It's not as if this same excitement is surrounding a player that was a free agent because no scout or organization thought he was worthy to be drafted. Jeremy Lamb was a lottery selection that many thought was the best two guard prospect in the draft.
calls me on what? i think declaring him a franchise player is premature. doesn't need an essay, its that simple.
