Really. Jorgecito like many on the Right likes to make his own facts. I first noted this maddening tendency in the Carter-Reagan debate. Reagan would just make up statistics to win a point. Only occasionally would the press call him out on it when it did not matter. Of course, we know now Reagan could have actually not remembered the facts anyway. After that the GOP learned to do it whole sale. The two real killers of course were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and the whole canard that massive tax breaks for the rich lead to trickle down to the middle class and do not lead to budget deficits.

It's not great, but it's a lot better than Who-lian Castro's -- a guy who literally has a Jewish woman tutoring him in Spanish.

Well from listening to the link: Tough work but my contribution to the forum and I deserve some credit. Cruz wants to dissolve the Commerce Dept. the IRS. the Education Dept., Also the TSA and Energy Dept. Probably another simplistic climate change denier I suspect-- or at least if his oil guy backers want it.. Perhaps he doesn't even believe in Evolution since he wants to dissolve the Education Dept and was educated in a Baptist High School in TX. Someone should ask him and let him squirm. He wants a flat tax the favorite of the uber wealthy and the libertarians of course. It is all so simple according to him we need to spend less, but we don't need more revenue. For a smart guy he is such a tool, or as I believe he doesn't actually believe this. It is the same ol same ol in an attractive package. Use the deliberately blown budget surplus to force folks to lose their food stamps, medicare, medicaid and social security. Cruz went too far and tried to get away with a simplistic deception. He claimed it is so simple. He talked about how government spending has gone up during the last three years and revenues have gone down as a percentage of GDP due to Obama. Even the Fox interviewer called him on it as the 2008 GOP crash led to this. Slickly, when caught, he showed no embarassment but pivotted to banalities about small business "getting the boot of big government off the necks of small business" and how Obama had killed jobs through the typical unproven litany of Obamacare, Dodd -Franks regulation of Wall Street --so much for populismetc. I suppose the too big to fail banks are small businesses in his mind. He tried to say Obama is responsible for the unemployment rate of Hispanics being higher than the national average. No proof naturally. He acts like he was elected by a purely grass roots campaign when he received millions of dollars from conservative superpac money dontated by the.1%. this is pretty much par for the course with these faux populist tools for the elite. Overalll it hard to know if he is a true belliever like a BAchman or big time into slick deception of the 99% like the Dick Armey types and many of the other of the Beltway GOP'ers who try to use the understandable suffering/resentment of the Tea Party types.
