So you are still getting a PS4, even after how much Sony has fallen off. Its not about paying money, its about having a better overall gaming expiernce. I have a PS3 and close to 54 games( over 40 are really good). Sony has lost its edge, and they need to earn the hardcore gamers respect back, not BSing here. Just telling the truth

They put a system out in the Vita, a couple months ago. And are they even supporting it or talking about it anywhere. NOPE, at E3 NOTHING. This is pathetic. The PS3's life span has just came and went and is leaving on a sour note, no FFX-13 Versus, or Kingdom Hears that was orginally promised to us at launch. And even when they do come out, they will be multi-platform

I have Playstation Plus, and trust me its nothing

Vita has been a dissapointment, and it really has nothing to do with the games, the pricing on the memory cards are pathetic, the web browser is crap, the battery life is terrible, the online is crap, the camera is a joke. For the specs that the machine is using, It really is overpriced A LOT. I guess Sony had no choice considering, they have been losing money from the PS3 price cutting in half, and had to get it back through the Vita

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is game that i have on my PS3, same as Mortal Kombat. I really dont need to repay for these games, especially at 40 bucks. I wouldnt mind seeing all of the PS2 (greatest hits), or something like that, like Jak and Daxter, Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, etc. But who am i kidding, ive been lied to repeatdly by Sony

Holy crap! Someone needs to get out a little more. I'd hate to see if you had to deal with a Sega or Genesis back in the day.

doesn't make that point any less valid.

and I doubt most people care about games performing better on the 360. The same game is the same game. If you have both systems than sure, but no one is going to buy a system because some games have higher framerates etc. I'd rather play 1 extra exclusive on the PS3 than have better performance on 3rd party games, I'd also rather not pay $50 for that sacrifice either.

No more third party exclusives ppl, only first party exclusives and third party (time)exclusive contents.

Ive never run out of stuff to play. I dont think either system is better than the other. Just depends on preference. Dont buy a Vita! It is pretty badass but you have to know that it wont be up and going for a while.

Up until recently, the 360 didn't even have a browser (and do you actually have to pay for XBL Gold to use that too? *Sigh*). The experiences are more or less the same (not so much at launch, but Sony's slowly improved their online service).

Or if we just want to make up things, PSN is 1000x better, so why is anyone paying for XBL? You can get a Drake avatar on PSN. So awesome. Get it together MS.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by this. Are you talking about its browser and the online service (i.e., PSN)?

Are you saying you care more about the PS4's browser than its tech specs, games, general software/media capabilities, etc.? Don't know why you'd care about a console's browser so much. I hope it is nice, but if not, I'll just switch to using a browser via Google TV or whatever service my TV has. I don't really expect to be browsing much from the console. It is overkill for basic browsing (not to mention, browsing on a PC would always be better).

(of course, I don't expect much from the Wii-U browser...if it even has one?)

I think they need a reality check, although I think all 3 do (or maybe I'm the one... :(). Of the 3, Sony has had the most "gamer-oriented" E3 conferences for the past couple of years. Not saying they were great (lol Wonderbook), but they were better than what MS and Nintendo showed.

I do agree that they screwed up by ignoring the Vita so much though. Too much Wonderbook, and not enough Vita. Strangely, they had some nice demos outside of the conference. Don't know why they didn't show more Vita stuff at the conference. Maybe GC will be better for Vita (I was thinking about maybe getting one before the end of the year for Persona 4, so that would be nice).

You still haven't said why this is a bad thing (and not like you can't get some Xbox games in HD, or some GC games with Wii controls). I've already said why it was a good thing, and you just came back and stated it was bad again. If that's how this discussion is going to go, I'll just bail out.

Beyond that, you seem to think Sony is banking heavily on this. They're not. Just a cheap, profitable move that gives gamers what they want. What Sony is banking heavily on is things like the Last of Us, LBP, Beyond, God of War, PlayStation All-Stars, Wonderbook, PS+, etc. Not that these products are necessarily great, but they're what Sony is focusing on. Not PS2 HD remasters.

    Also:
PS2 ports to Vita = good
    PS2 ports (well...HD remasters actually) to PS3 = bad

OK. What if they let you play the HD remasters through the Vita via Remote Play (or do they already do this, I don't know)? Will this suddenly be not pathetic?

It is slowing down because there aren't really any 3rd party exclusives left. And any remaining, you can probably assume they'll be multi-plat. And this goes both ways (already confirmed that Bungie will publish their next IP on both Xbox and PlayStation).

As mentioned before though, Sony will likely always have the edge on exclusives due to the disparity between 1st party studios of the two companies. It is up to these studios to create great games (and to be honest, they have dropped the ball a bit on that), but this is a strength for Sony. One of the few smart things they did leading up to the PS3 era (more or less saw they would be losing 3rd party exclusives due to market conditions, so they've transitioned to creating great exclusives internally). Without these, they'd be in big trouble IMO.

Or Infamous. Or Last of Us. Or Beyond/Heavy Rain/whatever Quantic Dream does next (though they are independent IIRC, so they could decide to go multi-platform). Or LBP. Or Killzone. Or..and so on. Guess you could argue that these aren't major titles, but they pretty much all sold as much or more than some of the games you listed. Maybe you don't care for them, but if so, I'm very sorry. Must suck to not enjoy good games.

It was a big blow to lose all the IPs that were strongly attached to the PlayStation brand, but as I mentioned earlier, a lot of these newer games are just not at all comparable to their predecessors (as mentioned, a lot are outsourced, so that's no surprise). In the PS2-era, I'd have been ecstatic to see a new Silent Hill game from Konami, but now, I just pretend the games don't exist (and given Konami's marketing for these games, that isn't hard). I still find it strange that I barely care at all about new Final Fantasy games (and care even less about Square-Enix games in general...unless they're from Eidos).

Please show me where Kingdom Hearts was promised to us. Show me anything concrete about it actually. As I already said, unless they outsourced it, the KH team is working on Versus. And due to horrible management at Square-Enix, they didn't even really start on Versus until a few years ago. If you want to get mad at someone for never getting these (or waiting so long for them), be mad at Square-Enix, not Sony.

Or just ignore them like me, and play great games from other developers (Catherine, Valkyria Chronicles, Demon's/Dark Souls, Folklore, etc.). It is OK to not like the PS3, and decide to get a Xbox next time or whatever, but I'd pick a reason other than "Square-Enix sucks." Even if Sony wanted, they couldn't do anything about that.

Be mad at Sony for screwing up The Last Guardian, passing on Demon's Souls, and taking so long to release GT5 (and I'm sure this list could be expanded).
I've actually been pleasantly surprised by it. Wasn't going to bother with it, but I really like it. The discounts and free games more than make up for the cost (really liked their E3 promo). Other stuff is a nice bonus. Ideally, Sony will add to it (like Amazon does with Prime), but we'll see.

Definitely much more worthy of $4 a month (or whatever it costs...I actually forgot, believe it or not).

I'm repeating myself a lot, so I might just leave it at that. I'm mostly just trying to correct misinformation/poor reasoning. Don't really care what you decide as far as your gaming platform (or platforms) of choice, but hopefully you base your decisions on actual facts and important things. Pickup a 720 because you really like Halo, Fable, Forza, Gears, Kinect, Windows Integration (I'm assuming they'll push a lot of this), etc., not because Square-Enix never released a Kingdom Hearts game on the PS3.

The same game is not the same game when you get 10% more tearing and less frame rate, and lower quality of graphics, etc...with the PS3. You can convince yourself all you want that it's the same, but it's very fanboyish to not give the Xbox credit in that regard. Sony has their handful of exclusives that run great...but that doesn't excuse the total inferiority to Xbox in all other games.

And RC...if Facebook charged a fee from the outset, I wouldn't complain. There is a difference when you start free, then add a fee later. Xbox Live was a superior product when it initially came out...and in some ways, it still has an edge over PSN. So no, 4 bucks a month is nothing if you're actually using Xbox live regularly.

The PS3 is good for blurays and exclusives. Otherwise, the Xbox has an advantage for 98% of video games and online experience.

It is one thing to just pay the 4 bucks because you're using XBL regularly. I don't have a problem with people who do that. You have a 360 and want to play games online. You don't have a choice. Pony up the cash, or don't get that service. But don't try to justify it. It sucks.

As mentioned, MS tried this in the PC space. Charged a fee from the start and tried to offer the same great service you could get from XBL. People didn't like it. They complained. Now it is free. Plus you can check out Amazon Prime Instant Video without paying MS to do so.

You're right that there is a difference between starting with the fee rather than introducing it later, but don't see why it should really matter (also, XBL actually went up in price IIRC?). Bottom-line is what MS is offering compared to what is out there. 10 years ago, it made sense. Now, not so much. Don't pretend like it is still 2002, and paying $50+ to play games online is a great deal. It's not. Although if people keep thinking it is, I guess that might end up being true.

If you don't work for Sony, they should pay you for the knight in shining armor thing you do for them.

I just dont see what would make any person pick up a PS4. Uncharted, Jak and Daxter, Infamous, Gran Turismo. These are very good games mind you, but whats scary is the fact it looks like Sony doesnt have any new ideas. I was one of many who went and picked up a PS3, because i fell in love with PS2. I just dont see any reason to get a PS4. Sony doesnt care about their fans anymore

That Playstation All-Stars game looks like crap

Everyone can formulate their own opinion but when someone views a company as completely infallible and argues anyone who presents any other opinion it just gets old.

It's like Cowboy bebop or whoever that as soon as there is an Apple thread he unleashes the hate and long crappy posts.

Since u said you're the biggest PS3 fanboy.

Why not take a pic of all the Playstation games and system that you have?

I'm sensing a little trolling for this thread.

PS3 for exclusives. Xbox comes will all come out for the PC eventually, and PC will always look better than console (given the hardware).

That was what factored in my decision, as well as blu-ray, RROD and free online play.

Sony will be moving away from Cell, so it's possible both 720 and PS4 internally will be very similar. I suspect the only difference will be exclusives and the controllers.

    I have a PS3

I love God of War 1.2 and 3....I will get the new one also.

The only advantage I'g give MS is the Gears of War franchise. I wish it wasn't an exclusive.

MS and Sony will have definitely have to implement more cell phone/console capabilities in their next-gen consoles.
