The only thing I really remember about the drafting of Watt was that Matt Jackson on 790 was talking him up big time before the draft saying he thought it would be smart if the Texans drafted him, so it got me excited for the Texans taking him. I don't really watch college football so I had no real opinion of it myself. But MJackson was dead on with his predraft evaluation.
You must be on a break from the "Sign Terrel Owens!! Finishing 4th, 1st and 4th in passing when everyone was healthy between '08-'10 is simply unacceptable!" campaign, huh?
not athletic enough for what? In his combine class for DEs he was 4th in bench, 2nd in 20 yard shuttle, 3rd in cones, 3rd in broad jump and 2nd in vertical. His 40 time was the only think he wasn't in the top 4 in and even then, he was/is heavier than the majority of other DEs in that class.
Comprehend the whole post. In other words, imagine I said something that wasn't stupid instead of what I actually said.
comprehend the whole post, which translates to I can't accurately describe my own point. If your point is that he isn't a great speed/edge rusher guess I can see that point but then again, he hasn't been put into that position to prove that he can or cannot do it. And to talk about he won't be a top dog in sack numbers...well no kidding. 3-4 DEs aren't typically higher sack number guys. However, in a more traditional 4-3 I don't see why Watt couldnt be a top tier sack number guy...think Jared Allen type of player
I've read it several times. I comprehend it. You like him, but you're selling him WAY short. Watt, one rushed year in, is already one of the most valuable players we have on D, next to Cushing and Joseph. He's a major game changer on the line, churning up his side and a threat to bat down anything sent his direction. Watt, year 1, thrown into the fire with no real offseason, put up numbers that Aaron Smith didn't sniff for 2-3 years. He was dominant out of the box against left tackles. Everything about him screams All Pro. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/YPMPr7bAMFw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Friend of mine was at practice this morning and said that it looked like Watt hyper-extended his elbow. Nothing from pancakes yet, so hopefully its a non-issue. No pics of GTFO, no video or it didn't happen, etc. Take it FWIW.
