First off, yes I'm a PC gaming snob. Let me know when console have Civ 5, WOW, SC2, D3 and etc F2P MMO/Shooters and can run it better than my (already outdated) rig.

Given I mostly play on the PC, I can't believe XBox360 have the gall to want to charge me money if I just want to go a play a game of SF4 or NBA2K twice a month. Now if XBox360 just give a way 10 hrs a month of free online play, I might be incline to give that system a try again.

Lol I was waiting for someone to say this, seriously just get a decent gaming pc and you're set. I personally own a PS3 and a gaming PC so I get the best of both worlds.

I have mostly exclusives on my PS3, Uncharted 1,2,3, Heavy Rain, MGS4, Infamous 1+2, GOW3. Everything I else I buy for PC, plus most of the xbox exclusives eventually makes its way to PC too (recently bought alan wake on steam sale xD) I had a good feeling the Vita was going to be a bust from the start, doesn't mean I'm going to start bashing Sony.

I agree that Sony has made some frustrating decisions this current gen especially regarding FFvs13 I really them to finish that and stop making FF13 sequels. Overall I'm still happy I bought a PS3 many years ago.

I'm leaving most of the Vita stuff alone since I haven't really followed it too closely (though partly because Sony hasn't done much for it, so I've not been too interested). Gravity Rush has caught my eye though. Not sure why you're not interested. Couple of good games on the horizon, but yeah, Sony needs to do a much better job if they want this thing to do well.

I'll try to keep this focused on just correcting stuff and just the Sony products (360 has lots of great stuff, and certainly possible for a lot of people to prefer it much more so than a PS3...and vice versa...same for Wii/DS/3DS/etc.)
It isn't cancelled. I'm assuming you're talking about the Kotaku article, which was proven to be false. Kotaku is a crap site (the rumor didn't even make sense). Quit going there for news.

Now the game might be cancelled or end up that way, but that is due to Square-Enix being horribly mismanaged, not because it needs to be skimmed down for the 360. Trust me, if that was holding things up, they would have released the game years ago for PS3-only (well...might still be PS3-only). I doubt they'd cancel it though, given how much they put into it. They'll half-ass release it I'd think. Didn't stop FFXIII.

We're talking about a studio that announced a game in 2006, showed off footage from it, but only actually started working on it a couple of years ago. Also, they suck at making games, hence why they hired so many Western devs to make sure they get things right next-gen. How Wada is still at his position, I don't know. Square-Enix (well, more so the Square side) has fallen a LOT in a short time period. I'm more interested in the Eidos side of the company than anything else. That's sad, especially given how I felt about them in previous generations (they're responsible for some of my favorite games of all-time).

That's 3rd parties for you. This is pretty much true for all of them (including games that were Xbox exclusive). 1st party games are the only ones to count on, if you care about this.

Though to be honest, these franchises all really dropped off this generation. I'd rather play Uncharted 2 (or Gears/Mario Galaxy/etc.) than all of the entries of the new games in those franchises (actually...I pretty much did that, except for MGS4, though that did stay PS3-exclusive). The original developers don't even make a lot of these anymore (outsourced to other studios).

I expected it possibly being Wii exclusive (and due to potential pull from Disney actually...think they might have more pull than SE), though since that never happened, guess it could go for Wii-U and be multi-platform (PS3/360 and maybe Vita...maybe PS4/720 too). Of course, that team is still working on Versus. I don't know what there plans are for this series. If they want that team to work on it, maybe it will be for PS4/720 (or given to a "lesser" studio). Or just stick to handhelds for a while longer, and not make a big budget Kingdom Hearts.

There's a lot more than that, but whatever. Sony has the biggest 1st party studio, so they shouldn't have problems coming out with a lot of solid, exclusive games (though they seem to be wasting some of that on stuff like Wonderbook). Of course, all of the consoles have a ton of great games (exclusive and otherwise).

Don't know why you find this pathetic. Not like they're putting their A-teams on this. Usually just outsourcing this out to small devs (sometimes mostly experienced with handhelds or co-developing other games). I like the idea. Hard to find some of the older games (a tragedy if you never played them...or even if you did), and this gets you those games for a decent price. Trophies and some visual improvements for people who care. Wish there were more of them (FF collection, KH collection, Persona/Atlus collection, etc.).

People wanted this, they brought them. Win/win for everyone. Or should I say Winning?

    Probably not. I apologize. :)

Sony didn't do that, Square-Enix did. And like I said, pretty sure it is false. Again, assuming you're referencing the rumor I'm thinking of, it didn't make sense and should have never been reported (but that's never stopped game "journalists" before).

I know in previous generations, the two have been closely associated (SCEA even published FF7), but the two are not the same. Although if I thought the same guys behind Square-Enix were also behind Sony, I'd be saying to quit bothering with the PS3/PS4/etc. too.

I used to, until my first gen PS3 broke. Wish Sony never took out PS2 BC. Apparently they have a emulator, but seems to be hit and miss IIRC (though maybe on par as the 360 solution, or at least its initial offering).

And I agree with others, PC gaming is awesome.

As an aside, there will probably be some cool stuff with the PS4 (and 720, though for different reasons) going by rumors, but we'll just have to wait and see I guess. Wouldn't bother putting much thought into how good/bad they'll be at this point (well...I expect both to be pretty awesome, though I guess Sony and MS have managed to bungle things from time to time).

The Vita had arguably the greatest launch line-up of any system. Just look at this list
    Escape Plan (PSN Only)
    Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational
    Hustle Kings (PSN Only)
    Little Deviants
    ModNation Racers: Road Trip
    Super Stardust Delta (PSN only)
    Uncharted: Golden Abyss
    WipEout 2048
    Army Corps of Hell
    Asphalt Injection
    Ben 10: Galactic Racing
    BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II Extend
    Dungeon Hunter Alliance
    Dynasty Warriors Next
    F1 2011
    FIFA Soccer
    Lumines Electronic Symphony
    Michael Jackson: The Experience
    Plants vs. Zombies (PSN Only)
    Rayman Origins
    Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen
Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack (PSN Only)
    Touch My Katamari
    Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3
Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour Edition
Look at any other console and I doubt it's as extensive as this. It's true that there has been a sort of drought for games, but Vita is hardware for the future. It takes time for developers to figure out the system. In a few years, Vita is going to have a great library.

They messed up the pricing at launch, but it looks like they're going to correct it. GameStop has started selling Vitas with a free memory card and a game.

Actually Sony has a lot in-house studios that regularly pump out a bunch of great exclusives.

    Code:
    [B]Developers[/B]
    Naughty Dog
    Sucker Punch
    Insomniac
    Santa Monica
    Japan Studio
    Polyphony
    SuperBot
    Quantic Dream

If you go on Metacritic and look at each consoles' exclusives at 85+, Sony has by far the most.

    PS3
    Code:
    Uncharted 2
    LittleBigPlanet
    Killzone 2
    Demon's Souls
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
    Unchared: Drake's Fortune
    Heavy Rain
    Wipeout HD
    Resistance 2
Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time
    Valkyria Chronicles
    Resistance: Fall of Man
    Pixel Junk
    Super Stardust
    inFAMOUS
    Gran Turismo
Compared to the 360's list of good exclusives, where all but one game is a sequel
    Code:
    Gears of War
    Halo 3
    Gears of War 2
    Halo: Reach
    Forza 2
    Fable 2

I stopped reading when he used "Crapbox" for the first time. It's like when people start debating boxing and say "Gayweather"... that pretty much ends it and I'm no longer interested in anything they have to say.

Sony as a whole is not what they once were. And they have certainly struggled with the Vita thus far.

However, I'd say that the PS3 has come along nicely, definitely got stronger here at the end of this generation. It's got a lot of things going for it, and while all the problems it (and Sony) had early on put it behind it's still a good purchase.

The Xbox has clearly taken over the lead in the console race for gold.

...and for some dumb reason, I own 2 PS3s.

My Xbox is all I need.

To be honest, the gaming industry has been falling off in general...consoles or PC, you name it.
