That I agree. He/she has a right to be anti anything, that should have nothing to do with his argument. However, his argument that "everyone is doped in my book, but I just decided to pick on a Chinese girl" doesn't sound convincing.
Lol it's terrible how you continue to say I pick on the Chinese girl when I clearly dismissed that ponit already and even attacked people that only attacked her instead of the Lithuanian girl and others. You just don't get it.
first off i suck at table tennis but you probably suck even more since you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. I just play for fun with friends and it's quite a workout and it is physically demanding. If you play at a high level you definitely need endurance, reflexes and focus.
It seems at that point I could hypothetically come out and say I'm Chinese and love the Chinese swimming girl, some of you would still say I'm anti Chinese and picking on her.
I have the official olympic jacket from the games in Atlanta.. I can only wear that thing once every 4 years.. or on July 4th.. That neutral gray jacket you can wear any day of the year.. Like? For olympics NO since it doesnt show our colors.. for everyday wearing? Yes.. that is probably what they had in mind to sell more olympic gear.. it's all about the $$$$
So then it's a matter of degrees? In both cases the team is not really trying to win. Fixing a game is considered when you are doing something for illegal gain, gambling, in this case they are doing something that while not in the spirit of competition is consistent with the long term strategy and frequently practiced by the NBA, tanking. I agree these guys made it blatantly obvious but in terms of degrees it's not much different than a coach putting scrubs in against starters because of wanting to rest starters later or for outright tanking to get better draft position. I myself do not agree with tanking and have argued against in the GARM, I agree you should play to win every game, that said I find it hypocritical to be crucifying these teams when playing not to win isn't technically illegal under the rules, if it is I would like to see the citation, and is a strategy frequently engaged in many sports. I am guessing the Chinese, Korean and Indonesian organizations are doing so right now.
If "physically demanding" was the standard for sports to include in the Olympics then archery, shooting, dressage, and curling in winter Olympics shouldn't be included. Ping pong though should be as at the high level it is demanding. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Eth2dWXF1zk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
That's what I said before. Some people think sport means you have to bust your azz, run and sweat like a runner or swimmer. Concentrating in technical disciplines is exhausting to the same extent and you need to be at your best.
Yeah, I do think it's a matter of degree. It's one of those things I know it when I see it. The Chinese couple showed no interest in playing that game whosoever. While the IOC code of player conduct is pretty broad in requring player to bring the best effort to the match, this is the first time IOC kicks out players for violation of that code. Everybody at Wimberly Club, where the game was played, was reported as so disgusted they kept booing the Chinese and Korean players. The umpire warned the players twice not to half-azz the game but were ignored. The entire match only lasted 24 minutes. I guess IOC made a decision that is simply too much crap. Is this hypocratic? I don't know. You need to find me another example where IOC has put up with such blatant crap. So here you have the precedent: don't deliberately serve into the net or hit it out of bounds, or else disqualified. Duh, right?
but that's just it .. table tennis at the next level you do have to do sweat like a runner and you do have to bust you ass and be fast.. agree with someone else that posted above.. i appreciate since the athletes competing are the best in the world in their particular sport.. but equestrian and shooting i am still trying to understand
Watching the US vs. China Volleyball and I am wondering why I didn't get any of the genes of these tall Chinese.
