Who is "we"? I don't know. I don't just "believe" Phelps or Lochte or Thorpe or any great champions were doped, unless they are proven otherwise.
Answer the question and we'll get a hold of where your argument is from. I just found it funny that a bunch of Taiwanese FOBS jumped up and down holding a flag of Republic China during a Lin game. Lin was born and grew up in California. What the heck does he have to do with that damn piece of flag?
So you just sit in front of your monitor, dismiss all the hard work of millions of athletes put in year after year, and announce the majority of them were doped? Just curious, what system are you using to come up with that "vast majority" statistics? Who are you excluding, and who are you including? If so, why do you bother watching the game or arguing about "dope", since you've already made up your mind?
I have no relatives from any Asian country. He's American with Taiwanese roots in my book. I can't answer your 2nd question because these fans you mention doesn't resemble my opinion.
I don't dismiss their hard work and you're again trying to put something in my azz I never said. I admire the things these guys do, but it's still a relatively logical assumption to say most Olympic athletes in swimming, running, lifting, etc. are doping to the fullest. If you really believe most athletes are clean then you're the clear minority and lack knowledge of what a clean body can accomplish and how outlandish individual improvements made by modern athletes are.
Huh? They're trying o arrange it so the two Chinese teams can face in th finals, no? I dontnsee no that incentive would matter.
No, it's not a sport. I have a little trouble worth badminton being a sport but I could admit its more physically demanding than ping pong.
The group play rules were precisely designed to allow weaker teams to have a chance to compete in the elimination stage so those countries feel a little incentivized. I think China swept all the Badminton gold medals in Beijing. By "beforehand", I mean that group play rules should have been prevented from ratified through rule making sessions. That's the proper way. Once the rule is ratified, everybody should play by the rule - that is play the group stage. And the IOC decided on the player's code of conduct sections 4.5 and 4.6 for "not using one's best effort to win a match" and "conducting one's best effort to win a match" to disqualify those 8 players. I am not sure what more I need to explain it to you. The rules are all there. Everybody can disgree the rules, but that's not an excuse for throwing games as balantly as those 8 players did. IOC acted under their authority according to the rules and I think it's a good decision.
Here is your quote "The Olympics is supposed to be about the spirit of competition and fair play. Plus, NBA and NFL teams are their own entities. One team tanks for its own benefit and not for the benefit of another team from the same organization. It'd be like the Jets had an A and B team and the one tanks so that they could face one another in the championship or something." I am only pointing out there are big money involved in Olympics. For people who trained for this all their lives, this could be their one chance to get a huge monetary reward, why shouldn't they optimize their chances? Olympic committees are all about getting sponsor dollars too.
Uh, Pingpong is not a sport because it doesn't involve muscle reflexion, upper wrist movement and alteration of direction and power, good footwork and oh it only needs one hand to play. LOL.
im neither pro china or anti china but on the same token its also stunning how you are so Anti-China...
Thorpe smashed his own record by 8 seconds at age of 15 is fine. Phelps smashed his own record by 4 seconds at age of 15 is fine. Rice smashed her own record by 6 second is fine. Missy Franklin won gold only 13 minutes after her exhausting 200 free semi is fine. Ruta Meilutyte came out of nowhere and jumped from 14th place in the world to Olympic gold is fine. Just not Ye, a world champion won Olympic gold, while her last 50m was faster than Lochte's slowed down last 50m, which ranked at 5th in his own race. No, not because she's Chinese, just because people never heard of improving own record by 5 seconds.
