It was dealt with beforehand. That's how it originally was. There was no group play prior these Olympics. Even ex-Olympic badminton players agreed with what the players did, despite their own grumblings. It's what they would have done, too, because they were WELL within the rules of the game.

Like real_egal mentioned, and I have said before, the group draw and bracket is flawed. That's where the IOC failed. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

And CometsWin, is table tennis a sport?

So the rules were not clear then? I mean it is unsportsmanlike for sure, just the punishment and consequences should be cleared beforehand. The rules should avoid such situation, like knock-out system, or No. 1 and No. 2 be separated in different groups could only face in the finals like tennis, or play the last group game at the same time. There is flaw in the system, first thing to do is to fix the system, rather than set new temporary rules to punish athletes exploited the system before your new rules existed.

After all, we are talking about tanking every year, right?:)

Yung-T is the biggest China hater on this board. Anything they do is automatically evil and wrong.

Anybody in the position to earn a Gold medal at the Olympics will do whatever they can within the rules to increase their chances of winning. If you don't agree, you're lying.

The point has been made by all people that respect sportsmanship and the Olympic spirit. What they did is disgusting and they deserved to be disqualified. Referee warned them, so at that point you can not say they didn't know what they were facing. Don't defend these "athletes", they don't deserve any support and should be banned for life. It's a shame to sportsmanship, spirit, the other competitors and the fans.

I made two posts about China and that makes me the biggest China hater on this board? Wow.

PS You guys act like I'm tearing down China, I'm talking about all involved athletes. I was just pointing out that real_egal automatically defends things when it comes to China.

You're also spreading that image of Chinese children being trained in gymnastics. Don't act as if you are not anti-China. I used a hyperbole just as you used for real_egal, and it looks like you don't like it when it's turned around on you.

I posted that pic two times. I didn't use a hyperbole, it's pretty much a fact he defends everything China is involved in.

Your last sentence is laughable, I replied to him and with another post in a non-aggressive manner.

While everyone is envying Spurs' tanking got them TD, the best PF ever played in NBA?:)

Your argument is laughable. There is moral, and there are rules. Yes, ideally, everyone is a saint, but we are in real life. I am no saint, and I won't demand others to be one, especially not because I don't like them.

Speaking of sportsmanship, where were you when people accusing Ye of doping without any evidence, and even AFTER clean test results and official statement from IOC?

Hypocrisy in such blatant way is not even funny.

You have no point against me, your counters are about statements and actions that I never made and never showed support for.

There is one thing in being an athlete and trying to win, there's another in sh!tting on the spirit, other athletes and the fans.

Do you know me personally? What have I defended "everything" China has done? Like Ye shouldn't be accused without evidence, and this now? What else? Please help refresh my memory. When you can discuss matter without checking nationality first, then you can have a reasonable discussion.

When did I do it nationality first? Show me the part.

I said "all athletes involved", in the swimming thing I said "don't reduce it to China". I have a stance against athletes that don't resemble the spirit, I never was "anti-China only".

Water polo really requires you to be fit. Can't imagine how much strength it must take to play it. I would get tired as hell trying to compete, but it looks really fun.

So you totally dodged the question and went away to claim moral victory, especially after your repeated attack on a girl with proven clean record, just because she's Chinese?

Congrats, you win. I give up "discussing" with you:)

I didn't dodge and if you re-read the past pages I even attacked a guy that wanted to reduce the problem to China. Tell me when I implicated that I was against an athlete because he was Chinese? I'm really curious to see it.

    I never claimed moral victory.

My problem is you go back to China with your arguments even when I say I'm against all involved athletes, not just Chinese ones. You're trying to label me as a China hater when I'm not.

You're a dude with relatives most likely parents living in Taiwan?

    Just say yes.

Do you think Jeremy Lin is more of an American or "Taiwanese"?
