I think McGrady is the only player in the history of the league who would think of making it to the second round, while being a bench player, making the league minimum, as some kind of accomplishment. My how low our expectations have gone...

First off, it is 2nd round virgin. Secondly, why "finally"?

I don't know if I'm quite on the Tinman level of hate but I have my reasons. Primarily the way he jerked around the Rockets. It actually surprises me how quickly everyone forgave him. Other than that I really do mean it when I say he is a waste of talent. He had the skills to be an all time great and, while I have never met the man and can't speak from experience, all I ever hear from those around him is how lazy he is. Doesn't hit the gym, half asses practice, BS's his rehab, and he is a world class napper (someone wrote an article about how much he sleeps). To be that lazy and talk so much **** on top of it, it angers me ever so.

He didn't jerk around the Rockets nearly as hard as Dwight is jerking around the Magic/LeBron boned the cavs etc..

Biggest waste of talent ever? Really... Just in basketball you have people like Lamar Odom, Kwame Brown, Michael Beasley, etc. I could sit here and list names for hours of people who have wasted immense amounts of talents.

McGrady averaged superstar numbers for about 8 years. That's hardly wasting talent.

Also the part about how you can't speak from experience yet you list a **** ton of hearsay is just laughable. I'm not gonna sit here and say that McGrady was the biggest gym rat ever and he never coasted but half the stuff you're saying seems like you're speaking out of your ass.

McGrady had a lot of short comings in his career and I agree he deserves criticism. But he also got plagued by multiple back/knee injuries. You just can't control that sort of thing.

I wonder if D-Rose is gonna be classified a waste of talent.
He is going a very similar path to T-Mac.
Young age back problems, freak knee/ankle injuries for an MVP type player.

I guess if injuries hurt his career then he must be a waste of talent too. Same with Penny Hardaway. Same with Grant Hill?

Rose isn't an MVP type player, he's a MVP.

lots of players get injuries. You know Michael Jordan broke his foot and missed a t-mac-esque 64 games when he was young right?

He's not in the same path as Tmac, if he were, then how could he cross that road if the bridge was burned?

He should have signed there last year. Anyway, still my favorite player and happy for the possible signing.

I feel the hate towards him is unjustified. I hope he plays well and one day wins a championship. Injuries to him and Yao really changed how things ended up here. He still was a great player though.

Rose's MVP award was a joke and advanced&basic stats show it. In no world was he deserving of being awarded MVP.

I think the fact he quit mid-game ON COURT means any animosity directed towards him from Houston fans is well and truly deserved.

The Lamar Odoms of the world not being great players is not equivalent to the multiple time NBA scoring champion never accomplishing anything of significance.

Is he going to hang that form his wall? I scored more points that season than everybody else? Wooooooooo!

Did I say I knew him, did I say I was making it up or did I preface what I said by saying I'm basing that on everything I've read and heard while he played for the Houston Rockets? If you think I just made that stuff up on the spot than you're delusional or you don't know jack **** about the past 6 years from our highest paid player.

You're saying that a player who averaged 25 and 8 assists while being the best player on the team with the best record in the NBA didn't deserve an mvp? Rose got 113 first place MVP votes that season, Dwight who was in 2nd place that season got a grand total of 3. You could make the argument that Dwight or Lebron deserved it, but to say his award was a joke is absurd.

Not reading any of the posts, but isn't McGrady at this point in his career a scrub? Why start a thread about a scrub except from a historical view point? Old news gone bad. Go watch some p*rn or something. http://www.spiegel.de/international/ might take your hasty thread trigger finger off the button.

I think if D. Rose can get healthy in good time we might see T Mac in the ECF. Sadly I don't see Rose getting his knee together in time to make a difference. Would be a pretty good team if he did though

    PG Rose
    SG McGrady
    SF Deng
    PF Gibson
    C Noah

I'd trade what we got now for that LoL. Excluding Chandler of course

No it wasn't a joke. He won the MVP. the Bulls were one of the top teams in the league and he was phenomenal.

once again, Tracy McGrady fans don't like to accept REALITY.
