What a ****ty finish Phelps just had. He couldn't have taken another stroke, but he needed to get a quicker kick in there to get him to the wall. His turns sucked too. At least he beat Clary. Don't get me wrong, I wanted them to go 1 and 2, but don't bad mouth a fellow American when going to the Olympics, that's just poor team spirit. Jealousy 100%.
clearly Phelps is not in his prime, and this his last olympics but he is still very good. he has 3 medals now (2 silver, 1 gold) and he can still have 3 more medals, that is a lot. and I wanted to say congrats to Mexico for the 2nd silver medal in the diving women's synchronized 10 m platform.
I'm watching our girls about to win gold. I think I have something in my, maybe both of them. How awesome. I realize this isn't live.
I can speak from experience on this... In swimming, when you're burnt out (which Phelps has stated he is), it's hard to perform at your very best. You can go through the motions at practice, do everything the exact same as you have in the past, and it still isn't enough. When you're tired of the sport, you're tired of it. Yes, he wants to win and do his best, but so does everyone else. Swimming is so much more of a mental game than most other sports. No matter how good you are, if your head isn't in it 110%, you'll never be at your best.
I like how you guys are piling on Phelps like he doesn't know how to swim a race. He peaked 4 years ago. He's on the downside of his career. It happens. Just like Vince Carter stopped doing between the legs, 360 in game dunks. Stephanie Rice is in the same boat. Ye Shiwen looks avg for the first three strokes, but really turns it on with the free style. Just fierce on that last 50M.
I dont know if you have sigs off, but yes I am. Did anyone see Great Britain beating 1-0 Brazil in women's soccer?
so that makes it okay for a judge to cheat out somebody else? your parents taught you some good morals didnt they!
That sucks, I like Lamps. Kyla Ross got some slanty eyes going on. She has some of that in her or something? I'm Asian, i'm allowed.
That answered that. I believe every American team had one. I remember the 96 team had one, and she won Silver on uneven bars.
Speaking of pathetic: http://www.nbcolympics.com/news-blo...-charged-with-throwing-badminton-matches.html Chinese & Korean badminton teams purposely try to throw their matches to avoid playing each other in the knockout rounds. Literally booed off the court
LOL Someone asked for more information. I was just pointing out what happened. Wasn't even arguing about this at all. Just chill.
