Assuming there is no further roster movements, Who are the final 12 active players? and who plays the most minutes? Imho 1. Chandler Parson (there is no true sf behind him) 32mpg 2. Jeremy Lin (no idea who the back up point guard is) 31mpg 3. Kevin Martin (our best player) 30 mpg 4. Omer Asik (our only defensive big) 30 mpg 5. D-Mo (young but very versatile) 28 mpg 6. Jeremy Lamb (too much scoring potential) 26 mpg 7. Terrence Jones (versatility helps but raw) 23mpg 8. Royce White (could play point foward but raw) 22 mpg 9. Marcus Morris (still yet to prove where he can fit in) 15 mpg 10. Scott Macado (not sure he will be back up but hopeful) 11 mpg 11. JaJuan Joshson (lots of potential but only so many spots) 10 mpg 12. Patrick Patterson ( I think he will start season as starter and just get pasted by) 10 mpg obviously all these games will not be in the rotation. So that's another question who is in the main rotation. I assume it will be the top 8 I listed.
You forgot Gary Forbes, I think he can be a solid backup. And IMO there's no way Morris ends up playing more minutes then PPatt
No more major moves... PG - Lin SG - Martin SF - Parsons PF/C - Motiejunas C - Asik PF - Patterson SG - Lamb SF/PF - White PF - Jones PG - Machado SG - Forbes SF/PF - Morris PG - Douglas C - Smith PG/SG - Livingston I still think Martin will be traded before the season starts. It makes more sense to start D-Mo alongside Asik then Patterson. Asik=Defense, D-Mo=Offense, Patterson=Defense
-Cannot see Royce White getting more playing time over Patrick Patterson. -I agree that coach McHale seems to love Parsons so he plays the most. -Not sure how the rest breaks out. Thats what makes this so interesting this year. -Maybe Jeremy Lin has the most minutes if they trust him the most at PG.
Anything can happen when your in the tank game as deep as the Rockets are. Whichever squad losses us the most games wins.
You guys did not watch Linsanity or even recall the fact that 0 minutes to 44 minutes on triple game nights is what killed his knee but he's healthy again? Lin is the best player on your roster son, not Martin. Martin is a nobody that will be traded.
While I feel a trade will happen, I will go ahead and try. STARTERS Jeremy Lin (30) Kevin Martin (30) Chandler Parsons (30) Patrick Patterson (25) Omer Asik (25) ROLE PLAYERS Jeremy Lamb (23) Donatas Motiejunas (23) Terrence Jones (20) Royce White (20) Shaun Livingston (10) BENCH WARMERS Jon Brockman Toney Douglas
I doubt that many will get minutes. 10 man rotation is about as much as you can expect unless your name is Hubie Brown.
Hmm...if we stand pat? This is what I have in 2K12. PG - Jeremy Lin SG - Kevin Martin SF - Chandler Parsons PF - Patrick Patterson C - Omer Asik 6th: Jeremy Lamb (SG) 7th: Donatas Motiejunas (PF/C) 8th: Terrence Jones (PF/SF) 9th: Royce White (SF/PG) 10th: Toney Douglas (PG) 11th: Gary Forbes (SF/SG) 12th: JaJuan Johnson (PF) 13th: Marcus Morris (PF/SF) 14th: Greg Smith (C) 15th: Josh Harrellson (C) OR Scott Machado (PG) I fully expect Martin to be traded to give Lamb the start and that Patterson is supplanted by either D-Mo or TJ. This all is thrown out the window, of course, if we trade for Howard and a secondary star.
Lin is not our best player, martin is. Martin is a proven shooting guard for a while now. last year he had problems but that's about it. Lin had 7 good games. The rest were average. When other defenses learned how to play lin, he struggled. I hope the best for Linn but he is not the best player on our roster.
My impression is that McHale doesn't like a large rotation. I think some of you are spreading the minutes among too many players. Sure, things will be chaotic starting the season, and I'll be surprised if we haven't made at least one more move before training camp begins, but if this is what we go to war with, look for 8-9 players to get any minutes worth mentioning, IMO.
After last year Patterson is not guranteed any minutes, he's gonna have to beat out montas and t-jones in practice.. I think white will play a combo role as a sf/pf so i really can't guess his minutes, that's a toss-up.
