being Muslim does not mean they are automatically liberal. I did not imply that. But the posters on that list are liberals, irrespective of their religious beliefs.

Jackie, you're right about Islam likely leaning to the right at least on social issues. What probably happened with the Type 6 liberals in my original post is that they were raised in the US, and are only religious in name/birthright. They probably went to liberal universities and now identify more with the left.

Similar to this. I've never understood why Hispanics vote D. Religion and family values are huge parts of the culture.

Do you realize how simplistic this explanation is? Suggesting that religion and family are huge parts of the culture as a means of explaining why they should align themselves with Republicans makes about as much sense as suggesting that they should align themselves with Democrats because they don't like being discriminated against by racists.

    10. Breadth of knowledge on politics or economics is learned from the front endpaper of a Rick Perry campaign flyer

Well I know the answer is border issues. But I've never really felt the left does more for protection. California has had some terrible anti-hispanic legislation, while Texas has had some of the landmark Hispanic rights court cases. Seems extreme to call the right the racist party.

It sounds no more extreme than saying the left is anti-religion or anti-family. See how that makes sense? And it's not just border issues. Having one party that seems to always be in favor of gutting education and social services (those can be key issues to hispanics as well) makes it more than just about border security. Just recognize that it's a more complicated issue than you're making it out to be.

    LOL

I have no knowledge of anything like that. I'm only familiar with about 30, pointless, substanceless attacks on various liberals. If not an attack, then a change of subject to avoid answering questions directed at him or his very simplistic view of the political world.

Plus, the level of irony in his signature is distracting.

That's about the same amount of time you spend critically thinking in a year.

I'm new to D&D here, so I've only seen a few threads. This one, the one about Obama being obstructed by congress, and the thread you made with the economic report.

In the latter, you posted an article that said the economy was in the gutter, and then took the liberty of bridging a massive gap by saying it was directly on Obama. Regardless of the fact that the author of the article wasn't implying anything of the sort. Most likely due to the fact that the author is perceptive enough to realize the current state of our country is much larger than whoever is currently residing in the White House. It also seems like any attempt by me, or anyone else here, to engage you in an actual debate is quickly dismissed/ignored.

Not that any of this will matter. You seem pretty set in your beliefs, regardless of the fact that describing your level of knowledge as "academic," would be doing the term an injustice.

All of that said, I thought the OP here was pretty funny. I hope everything I've said is a knee jerk reaction to a guy giving his buddies a hard time.... but I doubt it.

Freedom of religion combined with respect to a steady maintenance of secularism is liberal.
All this "Christian Nation" bull**** is conservative.
