Currently playing Prospects in action - Sergio Llull, Brad Newley and Dave Andersen It's just started but already Llull has shown great speed pushing the ball and works really well in the Spanish system (but thats to be expected) Newley has shown promising explosiveness to the ring in his previous game as well.. Andersen played really well against Brazil in the low post.. and hit his 3's.. Amazing Thoughts? P.s Do we still hold Newleys rights?
Dont even have to watch I cant tell you straight up nothing good will come from Australia as far as NBA talent is concerend. Bogut is a one in a million. Patty Mills will be a career back up.
lol, why do we (Australia) even show up for the Olympics? I'm so embarrassed. Newly is terrible. Andersen...well we all know about him. Patty Mills is OK. Bogut is great. I can't even name anyone else from our team. Matt Nielson, isn't he older than Andrew Gaze?? Nothing to see here, folks.
At least your country is playing in the olympics. My country isn't even on the world ranking (since we have 0 points).
All of the Aussies in the Australian team, are the most Australian looking Australians that you'll ever see. From non-Australian looking resident.
I know it probably doesn't belong in this thread, but it's not worth starting a new thread either. Just have to say that Alex Shevd looks like a damn good NBA prospect if you've had a chance to watch Russia in their first two games. Homeboy is going to Minny for $3 mil per year and i have a feeling he's going to be well worth it. He's a better prospect that that french dude that Denver drafted in the mid-1st round this year. Love his size, his court vision, his shooting, and he's a good passer. Why did we not make a play for this guy?
I agree about Alexey Shved. He is a true PG in a SG's body. Reminds me a lot of Dragic but with better handles/passing. Rockets bid on Shved too but Morey may have lowballed. Minny got a steal. T-Wolves also have too many guards so could be in the market to move one. I am also a big fan of Brazil's Huertas.
He's not good enough to make the Aus national team... Oh wait - no, he declared himself a US citizen Aussies could have had a halfway decent squad with Irving/ Mills in the backcourt and Bogut/Khazzouh in the frontcourt (Khazzouh played summer league for the Lakers. NOT an NBA player, too weak, but skilled inside outside big man under FIBA rules. For some reason not chosen in the Oz lineup...)
Absolutely agree. I get embarrased watching the Boomers play. Forget Newley. Get on Joe Ingles i reckon. Clearly our best player playing. The rest of them are battlers at best. Watching the games just show how classy some of the other teams are. Most of them a long way infront of Australia.
Kyrie Irving not really an Aussie. One of his parents is. And Kyrie Irving has never ever had anything to do with basketball in Australia. He played all his ball in US. So he is a product of the states. Also dont know if you noticed or not, Kyrie is African American.
He was born here you idiot, and no his parets aren't Australian they're both american his dad played ball here (in oz)... Get your facts right before you look like a douche.
