I just bought this home theater system

    http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-HT-S3500-5-1-Channel-Theater-Receiver/dp/B0077V88V8

    And i have this T.V

    http://us.toshiba.com/tv/led/46sl417u/

Everything is great and working with my home theater except when i try to play pandora. My T.V has a wireless internet connection and the Pandora app. When i open the Pandora app via my T.V, and switch the source on my home theater to "T.V input", it doesn't play pandora through the system, just the T.V speakers. Everything (Xbox, Sat.. T.V)is hooked up to my Receiver via HDMI cables.

Someone please help! What am i doing wrong? Is it even possible to do this? i'm stumped!

Read the INSTRUCTION MENU? You have to hook up your source output from tv to input receiver.

I think all of the newer Onkyos support ARC, but your HDMI cable has to support it. If not, surely both units (the TV and the receiver) support digital audio through something like toslink. I've heard of weird issues where certain protected content will play on a device, but it won't pass through to another, but more than likely, this is just a case of a setup issue (either an HDMI cable that doesn't support audio return, or the lack of a digital audio cable that sends the signal from the TV to the receiver.

I have the T.V hooked up to the receiver with only an HDMI cable. My T.V supposedly has Audio return channel so your'e suppose to be able to just hook it up with that.. right? sorry, I'm not tech savvy and don't have audio cables to test it...

Thanks a lot.. i bought the hdmi cable through monopirice so i'm going to guess it does support ARC. However, i just pulled out my T.V manual and it says to hook up an optical audio cable from the T.V to receiver, along with the hdmi. I'm guessing this is probably the issue. I'm gonna buy tomorrow and know for sure. Thanks again

If I was up at 1:30 AM, this is what I was going to suggest. This resolved some problems for me (not with Pandora) but with other "TV" apps.
