Does anyone else get annoyed that the women volleyball players will huddle up and slap hands after every single play whether they scored or not?
Ah but there, good teams are left out because only only 4 from each league are let into the playoffs at all, which makes MLB one of the most difficult sports to reach the playoffs, and the more gratifying. So if only say 6-10 gymnasts were let in, I could understand the need for that rule a little bit more, cause you probably don't want just two countries competing for 3 medals. But we're talking a cutoff of 24. You see plenty of representation from other countries in the qualifying rounds, so to me it just makes sense that the best athletes get the opportunity to advance. Especially given that the window to compete at the highest level in gymnastics is so incredibly small. NBA, MLB, NFL there is always a next year. Nastia Lukin, Alicia Sacromone and Shawn Johnson all tried to make the Olympic team this year, and none did.
it's not actually as fast. more like her fastest lap is a fast as lochte's slowest lap. his total time is way faster than her total time. maybe it's a swimming strategy (all out in final stretch). maybe its her style.
I like the Olympics in general. I don't see what the problem is here. This post is full of bull****. Try again please. You sound like someone who's offended.
They're not even that hot. I mean, I wouldn't kick them out of bed but they're not as hot as you say they are.
This sounds like a bunch of whining. Unless primetime tv dollars dry up, delayed coverage will continue to be the norm. And people have a choice. When the Olympics are happening, and not in the same time zones as the US, I make it a point not to go anywhere where I might see scores. No news sites for several weeks(or if I visit them I quickly scroll down from the main headlines), I don't use twitter and if people started posting things on Facebook I'd get off that too. It's not that difficult to be in the dark, but you have to be able to unplug yourself from the media. http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2012/07/30/live-or-later-whats-your-ideal-olympics-coverage/?hpt=hp_c2
I agree the article is a bit much. But, why not just show it both times? They show re-runs of other things instead that's already been seen. Why should anyone here that wants to watch it live have to wait?
True...and I'd probably find myself watching it live then on replay during Primetime anyways. But I'm betting they're just afraid to change and lose ad revenue, instead of finding solutions that would maintain existing revenue levels and be more agreeable to the social media age. Wonder how interesting it'd be if instead of one network bidding and winning on all the Olympics, networks can bid on individual events.
That would definitely be interesting. I think at least two networks splitting the events would help. I know they have live streams on NBCOlympics.com but even those are pretty poor. When you compare them to the TV on some Live TV events, they're so far behind and some of them lag. It's always about the money. It's funny because a lot of people on twitter seem to think they're watching a lot of these primetime events live.
