If you want to be even more literal...

JGL rises up on an elevated platform as bats swirls by in the bat cave. A dark knight rises!

But really I think the Robin reference was just an easter egg for fans. The movie was setting him up to be the next Batman. Bruce Wayne's story arc in Nolan's world is complete.

The main villain got too much time in the movie. Yeahhhhh. Right.

Saw it a second time and it's just as good as the first. In fact it really helps to erase most of the plot issues that have been mentioned.

If I remember in the movie Batman and Gordon split up to go after each one and Batman went after Dent because he believed Dent was more important for saving Gotham.

The joker flipped the addresses. Bruce was going after rachel but the joker fooled him and he ended up with harvey.

Just watched it. Pretty lame. Catwoman was hot though. Ever since i played Arkham City, i had dreams of mounting a catwoman in that exact costume. Watching someone else mount it is as close as it gets.

And Bane even said that, right? That success was Batman's weakness.

There was a bit of a Rocky III feel to this movie. The champ was the undisputed champ in kicking ass...but that lets one get lazy and comfortable...and then you have to find the part inside you again that drove you to be who you were initially...I literally thought of the second fight in Rocky III while watching the second Bane/Batman fight at the end.

Great movie by the way. Finally got to see it yesterday. Loved it. I think I prefer The Dark Knight to this more recent one, but that's not criticism for this movie at all because TDK is either 1. or 1.(a) on my favorite movies of all time list

What is with this "oh what if it's a dream sequence" stuff? This isn't one of those movies. The end was the end.

Alfred has a pretty vivid imagination...

If it's a dream, not only did he picture Bruce, all cleaned shaven, but pictured him with Selena (who he never formally met) wearing his mother's pearls! Plus there would be no need for the other parts to that sequence

What other movie besides Inception, has Nolan indicated that the end is part of a dream?

The end is literally Bruce sitting at a cafe with Selina letting Alfred know he made it.

Yea nolan makes you think but also gives you the answer as well. That was not a dream at the end because selena was there and also everytime someone says they want something to happen it usually occures.
(Like captain america calling out iron man, tony goes out and does whats expected)

    spoiler?

anywho... i agree..i dont think nolan went all inception/dream world on us. the films focus on "realism" to batman, so i don't think nolan was pulling a veiled dream world act on everyone
