I think we flip Asik before we flip Lamb, assuming he isn't involved in a Dwight trade. Also, did TM really say that?

I think he meant we don't have a center to package for Howard, since Asik can't be traded any time soon.

I thought we had to wait till December before we could trade Asik?

My bad it was Chad Evans who tweeted Orland would call us back in a month.

No, I don't think so but I'm probably not the one to ask.

That doesn't mean much. I have yet to see Meija claim that they told Houston to call again in a month. I've been following him and I don't recall anything like that.

Edit: Oh Chad Evans. Well a couple of people, including Meija, have called him out to be a fraud.

Once we have Howard, we have a year to build the roster around him. Waiting a couple months isn't so bad.

Yeah, I don't think Chad Evans(ChadEvansNBA) is reliable.

    Too many fake 'insiders'.

    ChadEvansNBA
    MaxLuckan
    LARobMurphy
AQS18(former poster on here--A_Sidd1990 aka ascaptjack)

    Probably more.

And too many guys who throw crap against the wall.

    Lamb/Patterson = 4 million-ish
    Iggy = S***load of money

But I could live with your Orlando trade.

Would you trade our three rookies from this draft for Eric Gordon or James Harden? The way I look at it, if you believe in our draft, then that means you believe at least one player we draft will become a young, borderline all-star like two those players I mentioned above. If we can't hit on 1/3 prospects, then it could reasonably be considered a failure, although this is a little unfair given the hit rate on prospects in the 11-20 range the past decade.

Basically I am saying this: what is worth more, 3 rookies who have never stepped on an NBA court, or a star under contract like Gordon or Harden? The answer is invariably Gordon or Harden. If you don't agree then you simply don't understand the dynamics of trade negotiations in the NBA. A star in the hand is worth three in the bush.

So given all the above, we can reasonably conclude that, as we let time pass and real games be played, if we truly have faith in our draft class enough to promise them all significant playing time, then the net worth of our three rookies should increase. Let's just guess that one guy out of three, or perhaps two out of four if you include D-Nuts like Morey did on 1560 earlier this week, if two out of four of our rookies actually pan out, that means the other two will have depreciated in trade value. Nevertheless, the increase in value of the two good players is exponentially greater than even if our two failures would be considered to have zero value.

What I'm saying is, why not let them play a bit? We draft based on our scouting, our scouting says these guys are good. If our scouts are right, then we should be able to get more for them later on if we really want to do that. Let Hennigan squirm. He's definitely going to have to bench Howard if he wants to tank as it seems he does. I personally love our young talent, mainly Lamb and D-Nuts, so who cares if we lose so long as we get these guys to the end-point of what they can be?

No way we give up D-Mo or Lamb. We'd give up TJ or White. A potential rental of Dwight is not worth giving up our 2 rooks with the highest ceiling. If Dwight had 2+ years left? Then yes, we'd have to give one up.

I do like how you think, however.
