Me and a buddy of mine have been tasked with planning a bachelor party in New Orleans in September. Personally, I've only been there a couple of times and don't remember most of what went on (lots of scenes missing), but was wondering if anyone out there might have some tips on where to stay, what to do, places to eat, etc. Any ideas are welcome!

they have this one street with tons of bars. I believe it's referred to as "Bourbon street" among the locals.

    might be worth considering

That's it. Plenty for a bachelor group to do. Do not leave the main street.

It's new Orleans there really doesn't need to be a plan. Just tell everyone to show up.

A couple of those clubs on Bourbon Street have signs outside saying "Live Sex on Stage!!" Probably an exaggeration, but I thought I'd mention it. Clubs like that do exist here and there in Europe, but I'm skeptical of the real thing being in New Orleans.

Stay on bourbon, near tropical isle or Pat O'brien's is fine. Watch out for your bros late night.

Bourbon street can be lots of fun, but it's hardly the only thing NOLA has to offer, and you don't have to stay ON it.....unless your legs will only take you a few yards. For a bachelor party, I'd probably stay at the W in the CBD (as opposed to the one in the quarter). There's usually some good looking tail there, and it's across the street from the casino. A few hundred yards walk, and you're in the quarter, and a few hundred more and you're on Bourbon.

NOLA has cool **** and good food EVERYWHERE. Don't be afraid to walk into any old place.....if it ain't your scene, just walk out. You'll have to eat sometime, so if you want any restaurant recommendations, just ask. If you're going in the heat of the summer, you need to realize that some places--especially Bourbon street--can get a bit smelly. Keep a decent buzz, and you won't notice it. Eat, drink, and be merry.

Step 1: Tropical Isle - Hand Grenade

    Step 2: Pat O'Brien's - Hurricane

Step 3: Babe's Cabaret (home of the dueling 30-foot dance poles)

Step 4: Relax in the air conditioned comfort of the New Orleans mobile drunk tank

Went last year for a bachelor party around the same time. A few thoughts -

Food - acme oysters, cochan butcher shop, deanies. When we were there last year there was a seafood festival going on, lots of tents with great food.
Hotel - stay closer to bourbon so when stumble in early in the am, its not a crazy walk; also consider a nice pool.
Party - outside of Bourbon, Frenchman (old bourbon) is a cool place to check out...lots of locals and dive bars.

    Hope this helps!

Appreciate everyone's responses. I think we're looking to stay as close to bourbon street as possible, since we'll want to be able to stumble back. We are looking at either The Penthouse Club or The Hustler Club for entertainment options, although we may have that catered into the hotel.

As far as the suggestions for the warehouse district, what are some good places there? I've never really ventured outside of the traditional party locale to know what's beyond bourbon...
