    Top 5 potential, Yup

I won't need to be taken out of context to say Lin has top 5 potential. Am I comparing him to Rondo, Paul, Nash. Yup!

Well, if we're being intellectually honest, no. I am comparing Lin to the top 5 pgs we have in the league right now *when they were at the same stage in their careers*. How does Lin match-up? Extremely favorably, you can look up the per 48 production numbers yourselves.

Aside from that, his intangibles are practically tangible. His competitiveness and character from being doubted at every level, but beating Mater Dei, beating top 25 teams with Harvard (Harvard, yikes!), balling up John Wall at summer league, making the most of his shot this season...yeah, like someone tweeted after NY let him go: "Look on the bright side, Knicks, at least he doesn't have a history of proving people wrong!" :D

No one's shrinking from making predictions of greatness for Kyrie Irving. I saw Lin outplay Kyrie Irving this season. Folks should trust their eyes and not be intimidated by smirking know-it-alls on the Internet.

If a tree falls in the woods and nobody is there to hear it does it make a sound? Lol. And I was messing on the psych major part I was just joking around with you and no I am not a psych major.

Anyway Yes the race card has been played and justifiably so, your naive if you don't think that race does not play a big part in the narrative around him. Mark Cuban, Erik Spoelstra all touched on it at one point or another. Anybody has the potential to be a top 5 pg eventually, CP3 Dwill won't be around for ever eventually other players will unseat them just like other players unseated Nash and Kidd. Am I saying that Lin will definitely be that No. But to say that he absolutely cannot is also ridiculous.

Comparisons to Nash are also fitting because Nash himself said he saw definite similarities. Mike Dantoni has been saying that Lin had some Nash in him since he went to the Knicks for a workout before he went undrafted, and to this day Dantoni still says he does somethings that Nash did when he played for NY. And he has been called historic because what he did was historic he broke franchise records for the Knicks and he broke franchise records for the NBA. So to say that him being called historic is an exaggeration is wrong because he did break records for good and bad things (points scored vs turnovers). Nobody said that he is going to become CP3 overnight but he definitely deserves to be called historic because of what he did when he first broke out. He put up historic numbers. You are right though he does need to develop anybody expecting him to be a walking triple double machine next year like Rondo is going to be disappointed he is definitely a work in progress. Curious to see if fans will be patient in light of how the Rockets are marketing him hard, some will some may not I am sure. And I am not ticked off at all I just think this entire situation is hilarious to be honest. And I am being very sincere here I am not laughing at you nor am I annoyed....it is what it is man.

Did you just pick apart my post just to prove your point as opposed to acknowledging it in its entirety? I think you did. I don't know who is worse you or fox news. LOL. I think me and you should just end this conversation. I am excited for next season. I am sure the two of us can find some sort of consensus at least on this simple fact. Take care homie. Peace.

She used facts and used logic to make clear counter-arguments which should have been understood by anyone with a high school education and your response is "LMAO, I rest my case??"

She said I exaggerated and yet in her reply she defended those positions.

Soo, What high school did you go to?

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned yet - I gave up on this thread a while ago - but the marketing campaign has started. There is a shiny new Jeremy Lin themed Rockets billboard up on 59 on the way in to town right before 610.

Yeah his assessment on Roy Hibbert is to funny. The league has changed. But yeah he was pretty spot on, in regards to a few things particularly in regards to the media, NBA and society. Insightful.

It's simple but not every big men has the timing down on the pick and roll like Chandler. And this was something he honed over the years, whereas early in his career his offense was limited to putbacks and alley oops. To me, it shows great improvement.

The guy who spoke Olden? You young people...

Here is one of Olden's jokes that didn't turn out so funny: http://articles.latimes.com/2000/nov/11/sports/sp-50438

Tex, you seem like a decent enough guy, but you're reading into things that simply aren't there. You're projecting your Lin fan hate (you seem to think Lin's okay yourself) to anyone who likes Lin or sees his upside. The Lin fans who are annoying and who may deserve the backlash are the ones who snobbishly dog other players and other fans in the process of holding him up no matter what.

In terms of this discussion, not once was there any contradiction. Not once did she say the Nash comparisons did not exist nor that they were completely unwarranted. Not once did she say the race card was not a potential factor. Not once did she say Lin's accomplishments were not referred to as historic. She just stated that you may be exaggerating that anyone on this board declared him a top 5 pg today as she doesn't think so either, although noone truly knows the ceiling to a talent that showed what he showed.

You're arguing with Lin fans of Christmas past, bro. That's not Roxxy.
