Joker gave him 2 addresses, and said Harvey is in this one and Rachel is in that one. Batman went to the one with Rachel, only to be shocked and disappointed that it was Harvey. Harvey was pissed that Batman came for him instead of her, so it was Batman's fault she died.

no, Joker gave the addresses but lied about who was where because he knew batman would go after Rachel.

All in a plot to turn Harvey Dent evil. Sort of a theme of breaking people's spirits.

That sets up probably one of my favorite lines in the whole movie. When dent takes Gordon's son and says something like "lie to him. Tell him everything's gonna be ok. Lie to him like I did to her."

When you say "horse face" I think Sarah Jessica Parker. Although, that would make for an interesting batman movie.

Yeah, Maggie is a sad turtle, not a horse.

There's over 100 pages, so I'm not gonna go digging through this thread. Just a few of questions.

    Questions 1 & 2:
Why did Bane draw blood from the doctor in the airplane scene towards the beginning? And who was the guy in the body bag? Was it a body to put in the wreckage to account for Bane?

    Question 3:
Was this a setup for a Robin movie? I felt like Joseph Gordon-Levitt had more screen time than Bane and Batman combined. I know Nolan said this was it for him, but does this leave the door open for someone else to take over?

    Good question on number one!?
Ya I think in sets up "Robin"-I thought bane was given way too much time actually, same with Blake

!. I believe Bane drew blood for himself to get more oxygen because they were so high in the air.

    2. I think this is a set up for a Robin movie. I believe Christian Bale wanted to continue the series but Nolan said he was through. I'm thinking someone will take over and make a Robin series and maybe Bale will make a cameo.

blood was drawn from doctor and into the corpse because Bane wanted the CIA to think the doctor was dead through DNA when they find the body. guy in body bag is just random dude.

No, this is not a setup for a Robin movie. Blake is not becoming Robin. If anything, he's the next Batman. Hence, the Dark Knight Rises.

    Yes, on the "question #1"

macalu's interpretation is the only correct one because it is even referenced when the guy appears later in the movie: federal agents are surprised and they mention what they thought happened to him in a plane wreck.

I forgot about that on the first point. Good job.

But as far as the 2nd question, i'm not so sure. I got the feeling that the name "Dark Knight Rises" was referencing how Batman was gone for 8 years, then decided to come back. He was crushed by Bane and then rose from the depths in the prison, escaped, and was the hero in the end. Hence, the Dark Knight (batman) rises.

well, if you want to be literal i guess you're right. :p still don't think there's going to be a Robin movie. at least not by Nolan.

Theatricality and deception. Powerful agents for the uninitiated. But we are initiated, aren't we Bruce? Members of the League of ShaDowwwssss sogood.gif
