Yeah I caught that too, between the commissioner and the captain in the hospital.

    The one starring Michael Keaton?

But seriously, I have one main problem with the plot of TDKR, and I'd love people's thoughts on this.
Okay, I know there is the bomb blast and little things about Talia maybe / maybe no, and who would know what bit of info when, but the following just seemed to break with the whole arc of Batman, comics and otherwise.

He asks Selina Kyle to "take me to Bane," but he has no plan whatsoever. No gear, no nothing. Batman always has a plan, right? But he's just going right into the rattlesnake den of a super villain with absolutely nothing but his fists and his utility belt, and he's not even going to sneak in. Coming through the front door, knocking out bad guys along the way.

I know it's necessary to the (very good, in my view) plot overall, and I love the twist of Kyle selling him out at that point, and I love the first Bane-Batman fight -- that's all good. But I think, writing-wise, there would have been a way for all of that to happen after a real Bat-plan is foiled.

This is a tiny point, but it keeps nagging at me. So what do you think:
    1. As Alfred feared, Bruce Wayne had a deathwish and knew he would lose to Bane.
    2. Bruce totally underestimated Bane and thought he could ad-lib.
    3. Nolan and crew were just a tad lazy with this bit of plotting.

I don't think 1 or 2 really make much sense, but 3 makes sense to me.

It makes perfect sense because, as you have already pointed out, it was alluded to in the movie. Up to that point, Bruce was playing pretty recklessly. His emotions ran unchecked, he had no fear of death, paid no attention to his deteriorating body or the fact that he had been out of the game for awhile. But I think mainly it was because he didn't fear anything anymore, so he went into that situation with reckless abandon, which is so very unlike him. And it set up his scenes in the prison perfectly.

Okay, but you should spoiler that! I hear you, in any case.
I guess really thinking of him being out for 8 years would help me accept it. I tend to just think he just finished off the joker, but you have to think of him sitting around in a robe for *8* years.

To add to his reckless plan, he knew it was a League of Shadow crew. He probably thought he knew what to expect as seen by the ease in which he dispatched minions all throughout the sewers. He just didn't think he was going to be sold out or for it to turn into a cage match.

You could even infer that he wanted to die at that point.

    Yeah, agree...
... and the first thing he says to Bane, when he regains consciousness is "why didn't you kill me?"

or at least that's how I remember it. Definitely going for a 2nd viewing!

Honestly at this point there shouldn't be a need for spoilers. It's been a week and if you haven't seen it yet and are peaking through this thread shame on you. Go see the movie, it is worth it.

Harvey slit her throat with the iron from the first movie when he came to his senses and realized how hideous she was.

Yeah, she was blown up by the joker b/c batman went to save Dent instead. (They were rigged to blow up at the same time.)

Gordon got to Rachel too late. I can't find a good clip on youtube for some reason -- just crap where people make their own crappy edits and music.
