Got this idea from another board where people put what they do for a living so they can grow their businesses by potentially getting in contact with people that can help them. For example, if your toilet breaks down you can look through here to see if anyone in here is a plumber. I'll start, currently a financial analyst at a petroleum company in Houston. During the school year I am an intern at a hedge fund in Austin. My skills are basically risk analysis and I have a lot of Excel skills.
currently a janitor specialist at a petroleum company in Houston. During my highschool year I Effed up pretty bad with gang members in Spring Branch. My skills are basically Vacuuming and I have alot of Toilet cleaning skills.
Currently interning at a petroleum software company in the marketing/sales department, going back to school in August (I go to UGA). If you need a summer intern next summer let me know. I'm majoring in Marketing with a minor in History, strongly considering going to law school once I finish my undergraduate.
I'm an energy trader... In fact, I'm going to interview for another position in an hour (same position, diff company for more $$$). Wish me luck, I haven't interviewed in half a decade, hope I remember how.
Very nice, have lots of stories and examples in hand for these type of questions: "tell me a time when you had to hand adversity." My uncles friend is an energy trader at Shell (can't really help me or anyone else for jobs since it is such a big corporation with controls) and is trying to beef me up to potentially to go into the field. I've learned so much from him about what actually goes on in the energy markets. Any tips or advice for someone who is going to be a senior finance major next year at UT?
Be confident. Good luck. I'm a Network Engineer at a gas compression company in Houston. I feel like I've peaked (as far as intake of knowledge), so I'll probably be migrating up north here in the next few months.
I'm a financial analyst intern at a big private equity firm right now. Looking to get into banking or something in the finance world after my senior year of undergrad which is strating now. Studying Accounting, Finance and Economics to build a strong basis for a future career.
Peaking at my company, I meant. I'm aware there's a lot to learn and technology is ever changing, however, they're unwillingness to invest in new technology deems almost everything I learn somewhat redundant. For example, we're still running Cisco Call Manager 5. That's what, 6 years old?
Wells Technologist for an O&G. Specialize in data analysis, information/data management, document control, and occasionally IT help. Use excel, access, openwells, tableau, sharepoint, and other stuff.
That's understandable. Remember Houston was just deemed the coolest city to live in though. What states/cities are you interested in going up to?
Accounting intern at an oil and gas company. Going back to school in San Antonio (surrounded by Spurs fans) in August to graduate this December.

dandorotik do you give a clutchfans discount? I haven't updated resume in almost five years since I landed the current job I am in (non profit arts programs)
That's actually a very useful skill for around here. My resume was proofed by a recruiter from a Fortune 10 oil company but would you mind taking a look at it sometime and see how it looks?
About to start my last year of law school in Houston. Interning at a non-profit organization downtown with their Family Law unit.
How'd you become an energy trader? Background? I'm thinking of getting my masters so I can become an ET.
