You are losing cap space going forward.

The Rockets are not title contenders with or without Big Baby (who I don't mind as a player) so no sense taking on his 3 yr guaranteed deal, which ORL is desperately trying to dump.

So what if Pat and Motiejunas (or Jones) struggle against 5s, let them play and learn.

You could say it's because of injury, but Patterson did have a pretty bad season last year.

Patterson is far from "useless" .. He played in pain all last year and had a 2nd surgery right after the season .. I read where he said he was now pain free for the first time since his rookie season.

I get what you're saying be I think there are better deals out there. Maybe if it was for BB and JJ I'd consider it.

Every team is looking to do this. Deals like this are not easy to find.

I agree about making trades for just a few wins. It's not about the wins. It's about trading assets for assets that have a higher value.

Take the Camby trade. I was pissed because I thought why give up crap and a 2nd round pick for someone to give us a lower lottery pick? But it turned out that Camby had good trade value. We got more back 3 months later than what we sent.

If we had rookies to fill the C spot then I'd say find another trade. I really don't want to see undersized PFs get schooled down low. That won't help their game or growth.

Orlando is going to have a fire sale soon. Davis is the best of the heap.

Rockets should find a different heap to shop at.

Let's pretend you're right... what would Davis do for us now or 3 years from now... if he came in the Howard trade sure... I'll take him but to trade out right for him, no.If we don't trade for Howard and even if he did amazing and was our starting center, we win 5-8 more games ( this would need to be Davis' Linsanity ) the Rockets would be back to where they are right now. Then he bring his contract and I have no issue with him I really like his energy but there is not a single thing he could bring to the team that we don't already have

Why would you want Glen Davis? He is overpaid and we have enough forwards. Just cause you have a gap in backup C doesn't mean you should waste assets getting an overpaid player. Patterson is still a good player don't get why you think otherwise. Morris is a good prospect that still needs time to grow. If they do decide not to play Motie they will go after another cheap pf/c

I'm just moving on to the next phase. Reshaping the roster is in order even if we go young. Personally I smell blood in the water in FL and thing they actually have a piece or 2 that might help us trade up.

To be honest, I don't really want Bynum, he probably wants a max 4 year contract. In this situation, Bynum's injury will hurt the rocket much more than Dwight's walk.

He played very well a C and thats where he'd play. Check out his playoff stats against Hilbert who just signed a max. He makes 6 million which for a C like Davis is far for overpaid...cough*Asik*cough.

Not a Patterson fan but if you want to give DMo, Jones and White some burn at their proper positions, and I do, then Patterson has to go. Morris...really? I going to let you write that off as homer talk.

He's a better asset and fills the need of backup C allowing other PF play in their natural positions.

Art, with all due respect.... after watching what we went through with the Chuck Wagon....

I don't care how well he played against Hibbert. He's NOT a center.

I agree 100% with you that we will eventually need to do one or two 2 for 1's or 3 for 1's... but, there's time. Plus, we have several non-guaranteed contracts.
