I'm guessing the anonymous GM works for either NY or Chicago

"If you ain't first, you're last".......that should be the Rockets motto this year. If we can't get the players to compete for a championship, then we need to play the young guns, get them some experience, and get ourselves a top3 lottery pick. I know this, you know this, anyone who follows the Rockets knows this, but apparently big name writers like Broussard haven't gotten the message.

And isn't it silly that people are saying a bench player on the Thunder is worth the max! ;)

Why would any of us care about the "business opportunities" that Lin brings to Les?

    We want to win. a

You don't win overnight. Miami with all the talent in the world won it all in there second season together. Last team to win upon assembly was Boston when Rondo, Pierce, KG, Allen all got together.

I see his point, but I don't agree. Hes projecting a guy who's 23 and had minimal minutes as a backup pg. Who knows what Lin is. Asik never had a big role so nobody knows how well he will play as a starting 5. Maybe McHale is able to teach him some offense.

So quick to judge this draft as deep in role players when none of them have played a meaningful game. He's as bad as everyone projecting all-stars and busts from 5 summer league games.

Reporters have to write stories. They are going to grasp for straws wherever they can especially with new talent.

I will stick to just watching us out play our expectations.

I disagree that Scola was our best big man last year. It was Camby, who is also gone. Scola flat out wasn't good. He couldn't rebound, he couldn't defend, and he was a fairly average offensive player.

I just wonder what they are basing their "not a starter" judgment on. Lin WAS the starter on the Knicks and the world couldn't get enough. It took an injury to take him out of the game and then those same idiots are questioning him for not starting when they were in the playoffs. Backup my you-know-what.

We paid 16 mil for two pretty unproven players. Can't really fault the article. Maybe the play great a prove all the haters wrong.

For the most part I agree with him, except that Lin and Asik are backups. Lin is a 2nd tier PG IMO and Asik can be every bit as good as Gortat.

But what we are doing should be looked at as a positive in stead of a negative, it's time to rebuild and we have the right players/picks to start the rebuilding process.

I think the chances are high that either lamb, Lin, jones, white, or Motiejunas will become someone that can be a star and take us where we need to be...

I looked it up our combined PER for our potential starting 5 (Lin 19.9, Martin 16.6, Parsons 13.33, Patterson 11.58, Asik 13.34 = 74.75) is almost as bad as the bobcats PER/5 (70.8). Our guys will have to improve considerably over the last season to even be close to competitive. Asik really is a great defender with avg player vs. him output 92 per 100. Our option 'B''s are putting rookies in there. Win count will be really low without considerable roster moves between now and the start of the season.

Per is a somewhat flawed statistic.
