Down 5-3 in the bottom of the 9th, the Redhawks loaded the bases with no outs. F. Mart flied out and Mike Hessman struck out to bring it to bases loaded, 2 outs. Chris Wallace came up in the pitchers spot and ripped a 2-run single to left that scored the winning run when left fielder James Adduci tried scoop the ball (and missed) trying to nail the runner at the plate. Game. Redhawks 6. Cubs 5.

I know that isn't a difference maker considering how the season went into the crapper, but this pretty much his last chance to prove that he can be a viable major leaguer. And he's spending that time in AAA? Matt Heidenreich impresses in his Astros and Hooks debut. Springer and Santana strike again! Forgettable night for Mike Foltynewicz.... and Greeneville, too. Recap OKC used the dramatics to walk off with a 6-5 win in 10 innings over Iowa. They clawed back from a 3-1 deficit in the 6th, allowed 2 in the 10th and were on the verge of losing the game. Brett Wallace, at shortstop once again, had a solo shot in the 2nd for his 15th homer of the season. Angel Sanchez had an RBI double in the 5th and was subsequently doubled off on a Landon Powell flyout, and Brandon Barnes scored in the 6th to tie the game at 3 while Fernando Martinez grounded into a double play. Rudy Owens was quite average in his organizational debut, as he went 5 innings and allowed 3 runs on 6 hits (solo homer), walked 4, and struck out 3. Mark Hamburger and Mickey Storey threw 1 2/3 and 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief respectively. Juan Abreu didn't allow a hit in 1 1/3 innings, but he did walk 2 in the 10th, and Sergio Perez ruined his line by allowing both of them to score. He was bailed out in the bottom of the inning. Jimmy Paredes walked to lead off the frame, then Barnes, who went 2-5 with 2 runs scored, doubled to put runners in scoring position with no outs. J.B. Shuck walked to load the bases, then Chris Wallace came in to pinch-hit. Wallace became the hero as he hit a 2-run single to tie the game, then Cubs LF James Adduci blew it trying to field the ball, which allowed Shuck to blaze home with the winning run. Corpus took 2 of 3 from San Antonio with a 3-2 victory. Robbie Grossman, in his Hooks debut, was in center and went 2-4 with a run scored from the leadoff spot. Drew Locke went 2-4 with an RBI double in the 1st and an RBI single in the 8th. Jose Martinez added an RBI single in the 8th. Ben Orloff and Rene Garcia both went 2-3. For the 2nd straight time, an Astros/Hooks debutant had a strong start. Matt Heidenreich went 8+ innings and allowed a run (inherited) on 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. He threw 93 pitches (64 strikes). Jason Stoffel saved his 18th game, but it wasn't easy, as he allowed one of Heidenreich's runners to score, then he allowed an RBI single to Ali Solis to make it 3-2. He got out of it when Locke robbed Jeudy Valdez to end the game. Lancaster will finish their season 1-13 in Lake Elsinore, as they fell 5-4 in the series finale to their hosts. George Springer (19) and Domingo Santana (17) blasted solo shots in the 1st (their only hits). Chris Epps added a 2-run single in the 3rd, but was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double. He finished 2-4, and he got his double. Carlos Perez went 2-4 with a double and beat out an infield single. Springer walked twice and stole 2nd (26). R.J. Alaniz, in his 2nd start since coming off the DL, went 3 2/3 innings and allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. Zach Grimmett pitched 2 1/3 excellent relief innings, allowing 1 hit and fanning 4. Unfortunately, Pat Urckfitz and Carlos Quevedo failed late. Urckfitz allowed an RBI triple in the 7th that tied the game at 4, and Quevedo picked a really bad time to allow his first run as a Jethawk, as he served up a solo shot to Everett Williams to lead off the bottom of the 8th. In 1 1/3 innings, he struck out 3. Lexington couldn't get the sweep of Augusta, losing 9-4. Mike Foltynewicz was roughed up in his 3 1/3 innings, allowing 6 runs (5 earned) on 7 hits, walking 2 and striking out 1. Gabriel Garcia didn't fare much better, as he allowed 3 runs in 3 1/3. Euris Quezada finished with 2 1/3 scoreless, allowing 2 hits, walking 1, and striking out 3. Offensively, Delino DeShields went 1-2 with 2 walks, a run scored, and a steal (72). Nolan Fontana went 0-3, but he did have the customary multi-walk game. Matt Duffy had a sac fly that turned into a double play to end the 5th. In the 8th, Brandon Meredith, who has been unconscious over the past 2 months, had a solo blast for his 10th of the season. Justin Gominsky added an RBI single. Tri-City and Hudson Valley was rained out. They'll play 2 today. Greeneville was blasted by Elizabethton 10-2 and they are now on a 4-game losing streak. Terrell Joyce hit a 2-run homer in the 4th, his 5th of the season. D'Andre Toney went 2-4. Chris Lee was roughed up as he only went 1 1/3 innings, allowing 5 runs on 4 hits, walking 2 and striking out 1. Andrew Walter allowed a solo homer in the 3rd. In 2 2/3 innings, that was the only run he allowed on 4 hits, and he walked 1 and struck out 4 in the process. Christian Garcia was roughed up in 3 innings. Scott Zuloaga had a K in a 1-2-3 8th. The GCLstros allowed 2 in the 2nd to the Marlins. Well, that was OK, since they had 2 2-run innings of their own to get a 4-2 win. Edwin Gomez went 3-4 with an RBI triple and an RBI single. Juan Santana went 2-3 with 2 RBI singles. The River went 0-2, but walked 3 times. Teoscar Hernandez had a double and scored twice. Edison Frias went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 1. Raul Rivera threw 3 scoreless, allowing 5 hits and struck out 4. Erick Gonzalez racked up his 9th save. The Academy is on a 2-game winning streak as they defeated the Cardinals 3-1. Elieser Hernandez and 3 other pitchers combined on a 2-hitter. Mesac Laguna had an RBI double, Pedro Coa went 2-4 with an RBI single, and Jarico Reynoso was 2-3 with an RBI single and a steal (13). Elieser Hernandez threw 5 shutout innings, allowing 1 hit, walking 1, and striking out 4. Geronimo Franzua allowed the only run in the 7th(inherited) despite not giving up a hit. That's because Rauldison Rodriguez sprinkled in 3 walks with 2 outs. Victor Mesa got his 3rd save of the season. In 2 1/3 innings, he allowed a hit, walked 1, and struck out 2.
I don't think placing those guys is a problem. Plenty of the Greeneville guys may go to Tri-City. There are a lot of guys on there who aren't more than organizational depth.
They probably deciding what promotions/demotions/releases to make. Corpus is already carrying 5 OFers on the active roster and Austin Wates on the 7-day DL. Once they move up people from OKC to Houston that's going to cause a huge cascade of movement.
Locke shouldn't be a factor Move Bailey back to Lancaster Grossman/Goebbert/Muren/Wates are a problem. At least one of them needs to be moved, probably Muren to Lancaster, and possibly Goebbert back to OKC.
