Dwight has been wanting to go to Dallas for quite sometime now.

His original list back in Dec 2011 was:

    #1 - Brooklyn
    #2 - Dallas
    #3 - Los Angeles

That's how I see it playing out too.

That, or he spends 30 million bucks to bounce to NY/LA to form the next Super Friends circlejerk team and becomes the new mega evil butthole everybody loves to hate.

Dallas was there simply because they could have gotten Deron Williams this summer, same with Brooklyn. Now that D-Will is out, his list could be different. We have never heard Dwight directly say anything. For all we know, he wants Houston. You never know.

If we really go for Bynum in a 3-way my trade scenario would be as follows:

    Houston sends to Orlando:
    Martin
    Patterson
    Morris
    NO picks
    NO Rookies

    Houston receives:
    Bynum
    Blake
    Richardson

    Orlando sends to LA:
    Howard
    Duhon

    LA receives:
    Howard
    Duhon

    LA sends to Orlando:
    McRoberts

    Orlando receives:
    McRoberts expiring
    Martin expiring
    Patterson young talent
    Morris young talent
& gets rid of 2 sour contracts

resulting Houston line up for 2013:

    Lin/Blake/Douglas
    Lamb/Richardson/Blake/Forbes
    Parsons/Richardson/White/Forbes
    Donuts/Jones/White/Johnson
    Bynum/Asik/Donuts/Harrelson

Then keep one of these following players, Brockman, Williams, Smith, Simpson, Machado, Fortson, or Aldemir and send the rest to D-League, Trade for future considerations, or cut them.

There is no reason for us to trade too much for Bynum when they have to have us facilitating the 3-way trade. In my opinion Orlando has allowed Howard to totally screw them over.

From an article today about DAL and Howard:

Yeah, Dallas presents a REAL attractive basketball situation for Dwight....

LMAO. If im ORL and thats the best HOU will offer, im either keeping Howard untl Jan to ship him to BK or trade him straight up for Bynum. ORL gets absolutely NOTHING in return except salary dump. What good is all that money when you cant get guys to come play there? If im ORL, i want draft picks, not just salary dumps.

So, we're not supposed to be butthurt that he doesn't want to come here, but his quitting on another team doesn't matter because it hasn't happened to us? That doesn't quite compute.

Sorry but I have to play devil's advocate (someone has to do it).

Mavericks are pretty good where they stand. Projected 2013-2014 line up if Dwight goes to Dallas:

    C - Dwight Howard
    PF - Dirk Nowitzki
    SF - Shawn Marion
    SG - OJ Mayo
    PG - Darren Collison

    Bench:

    C - Chris Kaman
    PF - Elton Brand
    SF - Vince Carter
    SG - Rodrigue Beaubios
    PG - Delonte West

Older, but that would still be a pretty good line up.

Let's be real here, none of us have the makings to be a bonified GM. So now that we are past that.

I am not an Orl fan and I want Hou to come out this smelling like a rose. Point is Hou has a bit of leverage in these negotiations. Are you telling me you would give up rookies and picks for Bynum and his bad knees?

This! Dallas is being thrown out there simply as leverage by Dwight's team since it is one name that's been out there before and currently has no way of trading for Dwight. No realistic way even for Cuban to get away from this math without trading Dirk.

Dwight could have gone to BKN already if he just played the season out on whatever team and signed the 4 yr deal with BKN. He did not. Not sure why we think he will walk away from extra year guarantee to sign with DAL now.

Waiting on Hennigan and the Orlando front office is like waiting on the wifey when she makes you go clothes shopping with her.

Please Lord...let this be over soon......

OJ Mayo, Darren Collison, and Shawn Marion, and a 36 year old Dirk your other starting 4? That'll beat OKC, LA, and the Heat for sure!

    Come ON.

Dude, we can't walk away with a star Center like Andrew Bynum without giving up draft picks or young talent. Orlando will simply say "lol piss off Morey" and take Bynum for themselves or wait until Brooklyn is ready to trade again.

Patterson, Martin, Morris for Bynum. LOL. You're a funny guy.

Again, Dallas IS NOT just being thrown out there.

Dwight has Dallas on his list since 2011, and even as recent as July 12th this month, even with Deron Williams signing back in Brooklyn.

    July 12, 2012:

    http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/chat/_/id/44530

The Dallas Mavericks, who have carefully maintained their cap space headed into 2013, remain on Dwight's s short-list, at least according to ESPN Insider Chad Ford:

"Dallas will have the room and (Dwight's) made it clear that's his second option after Brooklyn."
